We either add 2 teams or four , right ?
And Oklahoma gets cash from Texas so they are out...
So who is in....
A 14 league team or a 16 team league ?
8 to a side would make sense if you could do it without degradation.

MIssou, Va Tech, and FSU make the most sense, imo

playing in the best conference in America is the only motivation a team needs to come to the SEC.

However it comes with the knowledge that it is a dog eat dog conference and requires a large price tag to stay competitive.

The revenue sharing in the SEC is equal, which I think really pissed all of the other teams off about UT's TV deal.

I hate the idea of Mizzou and Va Tech, if you're going to keep the name, keep it somewhat regional. Of course I say that to say this, Va Tech is slightly south of Lexington, KY.

Gimme Clemson or Ga Tech and move one of the bama teams to the East.

14 teams makes sense to me, why stretch it further and then not play everyone in your division?

I don't know if it helps the sec coffers but I think the virginia tech fans would be great for the conference. Cool people.

But the more teams you add, the more you water it down.

I dont like bringing in a remote location in the conference, plus its mountains and basketball and other winter sports travel would be awful for fans trying to follow their team.
I would rather see Missouri or North Carolina.

edited to correct geographical stupidity on my part.

not really, they are forced to raise their game, it's taken SEC west schools a while, but they are dominating now, and of course some schools are better at other sports other than football, there is a trade out.

Not sure that Clemson and Ga Tech are the perfect fit, but I'd trade them for Vandy.

I think FSU would be ideal, but doubt the Gators/Dawgs go for that.

We gotta make a run at Clemson (they fit culturally/passion-wise, tradition wise and have a natural rival in USC) and one of the Florida schools to wrap up Florida. If not, Va. Tech would make sense.

In the west it's tougher if Oklahoma is out.
Believe it or not, Baylor might be the best bet.
Kind of like Vandy-west-evening things out a bit.

If A&M leaves the Big-12(-2), I don't think it will remain viable. The next question out there is where does OU want to go? If OU wants the SEC, I expect that they'll want to be a package deal with OSU. It might be that we go to 16 by adding A&M, OU, OSU, and Mizzou.

TAMU websites are just now reporting that this is official they are leaving the Big 12 and that the SEC has officially accepted them.

This sucks for all of CF because now that will force all of CB to shift all teams again and have 4-5 super 16 team conferences.

Choklahoma and homa St. will almost for sure go to the PAC-12, and this one move by TAMU will literally force the most massive shakeup in CF.

I blame Texas. Those greedy pricks have ruined every good thing they ever touch. Their greed pushed Nebraska out and foiled the Big 12, and now it will all crumble for Texas. No major Conference will ever except Texas and no, The PAC-12 would not want them after they have saw what their greedy program does and blows up Conferences. They will be left without a Conference to play in and I will laugh my arse off when in time they become irrelevant.

But the Sad thing is just one greedy team literally single handedly broke up tons of tradition and created this mess for all. Texas can go to hell!

solid post, I agree this was all started by Texas greed...

But I disagree that it sucks. I think the big boys all getting together changes the power structure even more, maybe now we will see real movement about player "shares" down the road
