I haven’t justified anything

I was pointing out your blanket “well I guess you support quitters” virtue signaling charade you were doing was dumb

The fact is that Burrow quit on his commitment to the OSU football team.

You support quitters. Marinate in that.

How do you justify quitting on your team? There is no defense for this and there is an inherent risk when playing football. It's a selfish decision given the facts surrounding his departure. Your defense of his actions speaks volume to your character.

This board must be full of multi millionaires to talk down on Marshall making sure he doesn’t get hurt before he gets paid. 99% of the people here would do the same thing he did if you had $10 million dollars on the line. Yes it sucks how he handled it but I don’t see how anyone can fault him either. There’s a lot of hypocrites and snowflake fans with their feelings hurt on here this evening.

Like I said, your comparison is ridiculous. But please post some more emoticons. Those really help the illogical comparison you’re attempting to make

Recent history doesn’t show a strong correlation with injuries being a statistically relevant financial risk by playing. IOW, even if Marshall got hurt tomorrow, he doesn’t have 10 million dollars on the line. What we’re seeing is guys with catastrophic injuries still being 1st round draft picks

What we have is agents filling these guys’ heads up with bullshite for their own financial interests.

It's a selfish decision

selfish but utterly rational and unemotional

i promote rational thinking and not irrational-emotional thinking

i can put this in simple terms. at this point, what are the meta goals of the 2021 LSU football team? do we even have any left?

It's almost like timing is everything

what will the timing of Marshall's decision do to this team in the big picture?

we have 2 games left. alabmaa and florida. we will likely lose both by a combined 50+ points

I didn’t even compare the 2 scenarios.

I’m simply pointing out that you should probably end your little “you support quitters” arguments at anyone that might even hint at understanding or supporting Marshall when one the most beloved athletes ever at LSU literally quit on his team.

I don’t give a shite about statistics and recent history. All it takes is one slip or one hit or landing wrong once and he could drop a full round or maybe even more. Look at what happened to Jaylon Smith. He was a top 10 lock and got hurt in a meaningless bowl game and he dropped to the 2nd round. Marshall is a bottom 1st or too 2nd guy because of the glut of WR, QB and OL this year. He gets a bad injury and he could drop to the 3rd round or maybe more. The difference in pay between a top 2nd rounder and a 3rd round pick is very large.

my questions is why is he just now deciding to opt out? Why not do it before the season even started?!?!?! 3 big time games left and you leave?

Because at the beginning of the season we had a starting qb who had been in the system multiple years and learned from the literal GOAT. When he went down, TM gave the backups a shot against inferior opponents and it just wasn't there.

Win out?

Aw...now that we see his goal wasn't obtainable, he opted out.

One heartbeat is gone

Here's one. How about we start with kids remaining true to their commitment to a University that gives them a full ride scholarship. You know, kids with a high character that play for their team mates and not for themselves!

Its odd

Terrace Marshall from two weeks ago thinks Terrace Marshall today is a quitter and POS teammate

Yet, some defend it

He's only doing what the rest of the team has done already, quit.
