Did you say the same for Burrow?

You’ve been fully immersed in the discussion as well. Probably shouldn’t be throwing stones. You’re just the other side of the coin, “melting” about people calling him a quitter

I’ve made like 5-6 posts over the course of the day Carry on brah

I don’t think he’s trash. He’s just a quitter.

this board has developed a REAL bad habit this year of blaming the 18-22 year olds who are being compensated well below market value instead of the adults making 6-7 figures who have derailed the program

This team is full of quitters. Tons of selfish players. I don't blame marshall for this decision but I'm worried it has become a toxic culture at LSU. After watching this season players seem like they only care about themselves. I would not be shocked if this is the norm moving forward and someone like Stingley sits out next season if he's guaranteed a 1st.

This is the problem at LSU. It has always been a problem. It's only getting more amplified now in a desperate time. Partly why not enough athletes who leave here give back to the university.

I'm really worried about this program moving forward. When you look at the financial situation and the boosters, LSU's not in a strong position to receive donations like a lot of other universities. O has lost this team and I don't think he can ever get the locker room back. We're stuck with him and this coaching staff unless we can find a miracle to get out of their contracts.

Keep moving those goalposts

you did with this "he graduated" bullshite

he quit on OSU because Haskins got the job over him. his graduating has nothing to do with anything other than giving him an avenue to quit without losing a year

It’s not an either or thing. There’s blame to go around top to bottom.

Disingenuous is to compare what Marshall did to Burrow

Burrow put in 4 years and transferred during the offseason. He didn’t bail in the middle of the season as a starter his team relied on.

Absolutely not. In fact, I've been saying this. The team is a reflection of their head coach. O is a reflection of Louisiana's entire caste system ran here especially in politics. He stabbed Miles in the back like a snack to get a position he never deserved, made a ton of bad decisions, then got lucky with Burrow/Brady who were transcendent, made bank, knew he had LSU by the balls, tried to act like a rockstar and not giving a frick, put his old BBQ buddies in position, now we're fricked. Sound familiar?

Sounds a lot like how our political system here works with poor leaders. Know someone that knows someone to keep you in a position you don't belong so you can syphon like a parasite to keep the good ole boys network rolling. You don't actually have to be good at what you do just know the right people and scratch their back. This is O's perfect representation of Louisiana.

If I were him I'd want to show what I can do against some of those Bama and Florida Dbs. I get you don't want to get hurt ,but dang dude kinda late.

Why now? Some call it a "business decision", but basically it is because he is SCARED. He is scared of Alabama and Florida and maybe even Ole Miss. He isn't scared of Covid or he wouldn't have played this year. He is scared of Bama. I get it. They are big and will probably hurt him. He should just quit and hope for a signing bonus on some NFL team before he quits on them when times get tough.

I heard he has a family member dying from the virus. I don't know if this is true but he's playing for nothing but pride at this point. I don't really have an issue with his decision. This is a historically bad LSU team I just have issue if he's setting an example for the culture to continue at LSU. I think it has always been a problem but it's only getting worse now.

How do you recover from this season when this team has no leaders and the coaches don't have player's trust in the scheme or locker room? I don't see how LSU can be a decent team next year. These same coaches will be here with the same players. How do you keep a player like Stingley interested in playing?

You made a blanket statement about bailing in the middle of commitments and are now backpedaling to cover examples where you deem it’s ok

Sounds like you just support quitters to me

I’m not back peddling at all actually. Despite your attempts to justify Marshall quitting, using Burrow as a “gotcha” attempt is just ridiculous regardless of how much you try to do so. But you’re well within your right to kiss Marshall’s arse just as much as others are to call him a quitter
