In total, it looks like they are paying Coach O a total close to 17 Million ! What a Cluster-F. Woodward's bears a large part of this with his outrageous contract extension !!! Thanks Scott !!

Don't care. We get a new coach hired by a competent AD. It's a great day for LSU football.

They’d have lost far more than $17M if they wouldn’t have announced his termination, or worse, kept him. Ultimately, the cost benefit analysis is still in LSU’s favor.

My take on it is that instead of the reduced buyout that was pitched beforehand and a completely severed relationship, they're giving coach everything in exchange for these stipulations. It's a win-win on both sides. LSU gets to keep some sort of continuality and avoid a nasty break up, and Coach O gets to avoid an ugly personal court case(suing for his full buyout) while getting paid his full amount not to coach.

17 was way too much. Who in their right mind was gonna hire O away from us? Nicholls State lol?

Him getting that much emboldened him I think. If we kept it a much smaller amount with a higher yearly salary, he may have kept in line knowing he’d have something to lose.

Woodward definitely dropped the ball.

Or he knocked it out of the park. Depends on what the end game was.

True. But after what he gave Jimbo. I don’t give him that much credit.

17MM got your a 2019 Championship! Look else where, school like Tennessee, Auburn and other spent way more than that, and look what they have! Be grateful! Thanks Coach O!

And the Aggies raised him and extended him after SWW.
This was about those “APPEARANCES” on behalf of LSU. That is Title IX and NCAA. Both of which puts us in a bad way if he isn’t cooperative. It is best to keep it that way.

Implications were too dicey. What really helped was O’s comment to the pregnant wife of a high ranking official…. That seemed to have expedited matters to open public.
This was also good because you want to let recruits know that you’re bribing in another coach that will bring excellence. That continuity and class was what was best. For cause would have been ugly.

I was wrong in the estimates I gave thinking that there wouldn’t be a “representation” type of clause. With that it makes sense now.
