Oh you are exactly right. Beth is an okay game manager imo, except for a tendency to get squeamish, play for a tie instead of a win, and have her big hitters bunting with people on base.
And her loyalty is more than an Xs and Os loyalty. It’s like, “these are my buddies and I’m keeping the clique together.”
Beth acts like she thinks she owns the job. And if she can meet Scott’s usual standards, I’m happy for her to own it. But this program has slipped a couple notches since that 2015-2017 WCWS run.
Oh well. I’ll shut up and just root until the season is over and make assessments then, as if my assessments mean anything anyway.
