Outside of Auburn (Cam Newton) and UGA (Matthew Stanford), every team in the SEC is going to look like that at QB.

Yes, he is a former LSU player, but I'm taking it as building an an active NFL roster, otherwise they would have used Bert Jones or Hodson in there. If you notice, all of the players listed are active.

Eta: This is from the article, but I can see how it would be easy to misunderstand just from OP.

With that many alums in the league, LSU is one of the few colleges which can field a full roster of former players without skipping a position.

I think the understanding is that it’s guys who are still in the league. Otherwise, you’d have Kevin Faulk, Faneca, Kevin Mawae...lots of other guys aside from Flynn.

Well, Les Miles' first recruiting class was in 2005. Not a lot of active players are going to predate that recruiting class.

I guess my point is, When Les was here, did less with more. Now thats he not here, he let the talent slide.

Forget he fact hes the only coach in the history of the program to have 3 top 5 classes in a row.

I wouldn't necessarily say that. I know people think we should have had more national titles but Alabama has had more talent, have the best coach arguably ever in college football, and they happen to play in the same division as us. Only Urban Meyer had more success than Miles did in this conference during his time at LSU, and Urban is also arguably the second best coach in the country and had every bit as much talent at Florida that Les had at LSU. He won 3 division titles, 2 SEC Titles, and 1 national title. Saban and Meyer are the only coach that surpassed those accomplishments.

Les accomplished a hell of a lot. Yes, we finished with 3 straight top 5 classes, but Alabama finished with the composite #1 class all but a couple of years during Saban's time at Alabama. How did Les do less with more if the only team he couldn't surpass during the majority of his time here was Alabama, when they had more talent?

This isn't to say it wasn't time for Les to go. I 100% supported him being fired. I didn't support what our AD to replace him, but Les had lost his touch by the time his reign ended. But in the totality of his career, I think it's unfair to say that he squandered our talent when we had to beat a team with more talent every year just to win our division. he also had as much or more success against Saban than any other coach has.

At the end of the day, national titles are hard to come by. Only Nick Saban (4) and Urban Meyer (3) won multiple titles while Les was the coach at LSU. It would be a dishonest argument that Alabama, Florida, or Ohio State had less talent than we did over the course of 2005-2016. Just because Les wasn't THE best coach in the country does not mean he squandered talent. The two are not mutually exclusive.

Besides Bama, maybe tOSU, are any other schools even remotely competitive?

Florida. Florida is the school threatening us for the NFLSU title not Bama.

What happened to Jeremy Hill? Was looking like he would be one of the top backs in the league and then just fell off.
Injuries? Out of shape?
