Godwin or Johnson would both be great hires.
I don’t think LSU screws up at all hiring either guy.
Idk anything about Jarrett though.

Look deeper people. Godwin was the hitting coach for LSU. LSUs offense put it in gear and that carried over to 2009. The ONLY championship CPM has was largely due to his recruiting and coaching up people like DJ. When he went to OM, Bianco made his ONLY CWS appearance.
Holy shite. Actual analysis instead of whatever these other comments are. Well done.

Jarrett has no business being on a “final 3” for LSU.

Nice work tadelatt putting that together. Thank you

I liked Godwin from the beginning.
Hope he gets the job.

Whether these are the finalists or not, appreciate the post. Good information.

LJ seems to be a bit of a dark horse but his team's scoring makes me want to know more

Link Jarrett is the CEO type hire should we go that route. He would be the better candidate as the face of the program. He's effective at fundraising and media relations which is a big part of the head coach's job that's rarely mentioned here. With LSU's brand, he would attract (and retain) the very best assistant coaches in player development. He is also one of the better "in game" decision makers out there.

Anybody who wants Johnson is going on recency bias.
That dude was the very definition of mediocre until THIS season.
What about CWS runner up his first season after taking over a team that missed the post season entirely 3 straight seasons before?
Or the turnaround he pulled off at Nevada bringing them to their best season in program history in year 2 before being hired away by Arizona? He took over a 25-33 program and in year 2 went 41-15.
He had to rebuild Arizona after that first season, which was filled with JUCO bandaids that he carried to the CWS, and did so in impressive fashion. I love his roster and their style of play.

he isn't correct because who would give dildo any inside info? he trashes the program constantly, you think that makes people give him info?

This makes me feel a little better, but he is definitely gonna need a really good intro press conference introducing himself to the fan base because his resume is going to be a tough sell IMO once people look at it.

Can't dispute Godwin's achievements. Ex-players say he's very controlling to a point where some on our current team may not be able to adapt to his leadership style. He would bring in a totally different culture that's for sure.

Mainieri pre-COVID was pretty controlling. Players couldn't have facial hair

Why is Corbin not in this list of Finalists. I know we have < 1% chance of him coming, but we need to at least interview and find out from him.
If no Corbin, then Godwin is the only answer. These other two "finalist" shouldn't even be candidates.

The question about Corbin is can he have similar success at another school besides Vanderbilt.
