Maybe they could use the SRO money to offset the cost of NOT charging for campus parking. Personally, that killed it for us. We still go to the games, but we don't tailgate nearly as much. We park out away from campus and ride our bikes in so that we can sail out through the traffic after the game.
There's also that poorly thought out clusterfrick with them not providing walkways around the construction area, but at least that's temporary.

the students tend to pack into the lower rows of the student section much tighter than other parts of the stadium, frequently in the aisles and standing sideways to fit. because of them packing in so tightly lower down the top ends up being empty. its not that the tickets aren't being used, but since the student section is general admission they are being used in different areas. I would imagine if you let the same number of students in and also sold those seats to non-students there would probably be a fire code issue for not having enough room for each person in attendance.
I always thought this was the case. I was under the impression that if students actually sat one per seat the student section would be full.

Boom. It's like these people weren't students. The students always cram into the lower sections. Anyone that was a student would know that.
And the emptiness at kickoff is a result of the piss poor system of getting in to the stadium right now. But yea, take away student tickets
And for the record, I'm no longer a student, so not biased towards them.

I have a feeling it's mostly sidewalk fans doing the bitching. They don't understand that LSU is a college and if it weren't for the students there would be no Football team.

Most students have no idea the student section extends that far out
ETA: I have Greek tickets now but my freshmen year we always squeezed in the 219-220's.

TAF will be requesting to sell some of the student section...
No they won't. They can't legally. TAF is only allowed ownership of a certain percentage of the lower bowl.
LSU AD office on the other hand, sells student seats every year once the students start the year with there normal poor attendance

I think they should allow only graduating seniors and graduate students.
Sell the rest of the seats to people who are willing to act their age...

They are acting their age. I'm inclined to think you didn't go to college.

So in home game #4 of the home season, you were caught totally offguard as to how long it might take to get through the student gate? Did you not factor that into your decision as to when to leave your tailgate to go to the game?

Maybe LSU should hire some grumpy old men to patrol the stadium and help people find their seats.

they are general admission seats, they can sit anywhere in the section they want.

Like students were the only ones affected. Give me a break.

I ask again, is there a good reason to not do SRO tickets? They do it for baseball, although I know that it is a much smaller scale. From a tech standpoint, it could be done.
I'm not sure I know what you're asking. Alex Box has concourses all the way around to allow for SRO tickets. Tiger Stadium doesn't really have that.

LSU isn't helping the situation either. For example, this past weekend a friend was swiping in and they told him his card wouldn't work. He had to go talk to someone and their response was that his card wasn't valid because another card had been issued under his name in early Sept. He said bullshite because he used the exact same card to swipe into the testing center 2 days before. When trying to argue with the guy, a cop comes up and threatens to arrest him.
They wouldn't let him in so he had to go scalp a ticket for $29 bucks.
Getting into the games via student gates is a bitch and it's starting to piss alot of students off.

Maybe it should be required that all students check td.com for stadium issues. I'm not a student, but I knew after Game 1 that the students had a longer time waiting in line this year than in previous years. Silly me, I would just factor that into my planning as to making it to the game before kickoff.

Look at the scoreboard , absolute crap

It took an hour and half to get into the first home game

it takes time to tape flasks on the girls thighs, get off their backs.
