F.
The best thing for OLmen is a decisive QB who gets the ball out quick. Period. You can be a speedbump and be successful if that's the case.
So... this assumes Daniels is NOT that guy. I'm not making that assumption. I am making the assumption that Nuss is better in this regard.
A QB that "buys time" in ways other than just stepping up in the pocket is the bane of existance for OLmen. You're taught to make a pocket for a reason and then a QB gives the DE angles or a clear line of sight because that QB outflanks his OT sucks. You're pretty much helpless and the whole blocking scheme is blowed up, even if you executed properly.
To add to that we will be running 5 (mostly) and 7 man slides all a QB has to do is take 1.5 steps in the wrong direction and that extra time the slide bought you, plus more, just evaporated.
It is all a function of time. The less time you need, the more chance of success. So if the QB is buying time, your chances of success go down with each 1/2 second. And that goes for any QB because it will be outside the design of the blocking scheme.
Against us, and a couple other teams too, Manziel buying time did not work well statistically for them. The ratio of failed plays (usually an incomplete) vs. the successful ones (jump ball to Evans) for them when he starting twerking out behind C was terrible. And that was behind a great OL. He caused more pressure than the OL did by letting the pocket being broken.

The person that should start is the person that the coaches choose to start. Our coaches have the best idea of who gives the team the best chance to win.

None of us know the answer. Neither has played, recently, vs SEC defenses that are allowed to scheme and hit/tackle the QB.
We will have to accept the coaches decision, until the starter throws the first interception or turns it over with a fumble.
Then all bets are off. We will know!

Did you call the Finebaum Show on Wednesday?

Nuss has really good escapability in addition to being the better passer. I know he was awful in his first start, but Jake Peetz was calling plays and you could tell Nuss had improved a ton by the spring.

I think it is realistic to hope Daniels could have a Hendon Hooker (Tennessee) type of season in terms of production. Hooker threw for 2945 yards, 31 TDs,
Umm sign me up! That would put JD no. 2 all time for LSU.
LSU has championship runs when our QBs throw over 20, winning titles in 3 of the 7 times it’s happened.

No idea. QB needs to read nd process and throw over the middle.

Or maybe, just maybe…. Jayden won the job regardless of the o line and he actually IS the QB that gives the team the best shot at winning.

Yea whoever you are simply judging Daniel’s on the spring game, y’all need to go watch this guy play the game under the lights! He’s a completely different player than what we saw in the spring game and there is NO WAY he regressed that much. Just no way.
He’s very very quick to get the ball out, he throws with some zip and the ball gets there accurately most of the time, even when he’s under pressure. But he actually looks at the defense and will throw it to guys that are coming open or are already open. We going to have to run routes that get our guys open or he will not do well.
Good news is that we will be running a similar offense that he’s familiar with so it will be be getting receivers open by design. He should have a decent season if he starts.

Are the constant fears about Daniels' accuracy all based on the spring game? The guy completed 65% of his passes last year after ASU had something like 6 WRs transfer out.
He's certainly good enough to start the year with, but some posters act like he's the second coming of Reggie Ball.
The Spring Game is all most of us have to go on, and it was a really bad showing.
What Daniels has going for himself is that he has good completion numbers in the 0-10 yard range. That may not sound like much, but the wheels really fall off an offense when those short passes go south like with Brandon Harris.
On the bad side of things is that his 65% completion last year was mostly to his running back who is an NFL caliber back with great hands. And that was in an offense that was 70-30 run to pass. I think our WR's are going to bolt if we go run heavy with Daniels taking a lot of those runs and most of our passes are dump offs.

I think he will be on the bench if that is his style of play.
That is contrary to BK and Denbrock's explanation of our offense.
