At the 2:04 point of video (:4 seconds left in the game), JJ claps (to let TBob know he is ready). Then, he fricking stares off into space and somehow isn't ready.

Peoples are blowing this to be something it isn't, The real criticism should be on JJ for not paying attention, not bowing to T Bob for doing what JJ told him to do.

JJ called for the ball (pre snap clap), then went into sleep mode.
This doesn't make sense if you think about it. The only thing that really does is, whatever motion he was doing (and if you've watched him previously, he does a lot of similar motions before ball snaps) he was not yet "calling for the ball" when T-Bob realized he had to do something.

The other massive mistake made by JJ is why in the hell was he falling on the ball on the missed snap. Anything but fall on it or kick it out of bounds...ANYTHING!!

That's what was said on 870 a.m. on the Bobby Hebert call in show... that TBob snapped it.

Who looks away from the ball with 4 seconds left?

JJ does! Can T-Bob play qb? I just don't understand why you would change qb's in that situation, JL gets us down the field, just to get pulled?

Apparently T-Bob took it upon himself to snap the ball without the QB calling for it because he noticed the clock running out with NO chance of victory without a snap.

This has been confirmed. I saw it last night on Victor Howell's program.

I don't think he knew they had 13. Watch the replay. He was walking toward midfield when he slammed his helmet to the ground, thinking we had lost. If he snapped it to catch them with too many people, he would have been looking to see if the officials had a flag.

As it turned out Jefferson chased the snapped ball down 15 yards behind the line of scrimmage and fell on it.

why did he fall on it?...shouldn't he have tried to at least make a play?

I don't think the point is that he knew they had too many players on the field. I think the point is, he knew there was 2 seconds left, and at that moment, snapping the ball is the ONLY possible hope to have anything happen, whether the QB's "calling for it" or not.

Awesome, our backup center has to take over the game because JJ is clueless and our head coach is a total idiot.

T-Bob's account:

quote:

"When I looked up, the clock was at about :05 so I knew I had to pop up and snap it," Hebert said. "I didn't even know what the play was. I think we were trying to get a little too much done in too little time. Time was about to run out, so I snapped it."

it's that he got pulled to run the fricking option that pisses me off. We don't need to be running that play without Shep.

T-Bob would not have been flagged because the game was over before he threw his helmet down. Look at all of the Tenn. players who ran from the sideline onto the field with their helmets off right as he is throwing his down. Also, how can anyone ask him to contain his emotions when he sees his team lose because of bad play calling and his snap at center. I was in my living room and I kicked the couch!

I think it was probably the best play JJ has concocted to date.
I'm gonna let the ball get by me, because I know there is too many players on the field for Tenn. Let the crowd think its over and I'll be talking smack all next week, on the bench.

"I had no idea what play was called,'' said Hebert. "As I kept looking at the clock, with time running out, all I knew was I didn't want time to run out on us like it did last year against Ole Miss.''

I only threw my hat, learned my lesson from the Ole Miss game last year about the damage that thrown shoes can cause...
