O-line deserves blame.

Coaches deserve blame.

i remember 2 targets of the RB off the top of my head. Harris just couldn't complete them. Both would have been big gains for LF7

We tried that. But when the first sign of trouble happens Miles and Cam will got back to the predictable roots. We tied up the game with passing and using BH as a runner and LF as a decoy. But two things happened. BH starting limping and he threw a INT. Both issues prompted Miles and Cam to go conservative. Biggest issue is coaches not trusting the QB and an OL being over powered by an incredible DL.

Exactly how many times do we have to lose to hammer for coaches to know ahead of time that current scheme isn't going to work against them? And that the oline has to know and be prepared for what they will be going against. Groundhog day

This game is not on the coaches

Throughout Saturday’s game, all the various social media feeds I am required to watch were inundated with “LES MILES SUCKS” and “TERRIBLE PLAY CALLING” themed messages. While this isn’t a surprise, I find it frustrating, as I feel these comments completely miss the point as to why LSU got dominated offensively. LSU didn’t lose because of their game plan. They lost because they got DOMINATED up front. You can’t suddenly change your offense in the middle of a season. A power running team doesn’t wake up one day and suddenly decide they are going to run the spread.

Some "fans" aren't going to like this

To be fair, some posters have been begging for years that LSU move to a more balanced offense. SFP has posted about it just about every Sunday this season alone.

Les Miles has had 4 years to reflect on 1/9/12 and figure out how to correct it. Yet he still thinks slamming into a brick wall against Bama is the way to go. The more tight ends and fullbacks you put into the game, the more line backers and down lineman Nick Saban adds.

I think the coaches know but they won't go against their boss...want to keep getting that check.

No way in hell they can't see what some fans already knew/have known for some time...you are not going to dominate Bama physically.

I was amused by how many fans spouted off for 2 weeks how our oline is going to dominate their front 7 based on how teams that run completely different offenses did to them.

Clearly he is wrong. It's called mixing up the play calling. Still to this day, we are the only team in college football that can not run screen plays to our backs. Every team has at least this play in their scheme. We kept trying to run between the tackles and got dominated. If you can't block, then you throw the ball downfield. It was real obvious we had success the few times we actually tried.

There's a lot of ex-football players and ex-athletes in general that sound like morons.

Nothing to do with race.

Single back, 4 wide You cannot let Bama sit in their base package, period! Ole miss moved it on Bama by doing that. You HAVE to use the blueprint given to you by them. Arkansas moved it the same way as did UT. Why the frick would we not do the same? Are ALL of those teams OL better than ours? NO WAY! Saban knows Les won't ever change his plan. And he owns us with that plan as our strategy.

Les knows we can win 80% of his games with the style of play used against BAMA last night. He has more talent. For the small minority on this board who dwell on football more than most it sucks, but the average fan/base, winning 80% of the time is good enough.

It wasn't just the OL that was dominated. The DL was pushed off the LOS, especially in the 2nd half and the Special Teams were terrible.
This all fed into the loss.
Our defense has been a little weak all season, we've given up big games to basically every QB except Auburn's (and they got 21 pts too). This alone doomed the Tigers; the only hope was to keep the game close, keep pounding, and hope eventually their defense wears down and Fournette comes up big in the 4th quarter. That would have required us forcing them into a lot of 3 and outs to offset ours; instead, they were driving on us from the opening kick.

Regarding special teams, I don't know what to say. It honestly looked like the return game's plan was to get Guice killed, the coverage team had no lane discipline, and the kicker was putting the ball down to the 10. We need a kickoff guy.

We ran on first down 6 out of the first 7 times.

I just feel like we should have tried some short passes on first down in order to set up the run later. Just like Alabama did.

When we started throwing on 1st down midway through the 2nd quarter, we really started to look decent on offense.
