I don't believe Sydir is a replacement for Suggs. We have better than Suggs freshman coming in for that. Sydir is a DL space eater. That's going to be his role.

Mitchell is about replenishing young depth after our horrendous 2023 class, and getting a true space eater.

Portal is also about acquiring depth to fill out a roster. You don’t just shop the portal for stars anymore. Acquire the highest level volume talent you can and let it sort itself out

Yeah, I agree with you. Suggs IMO is a better player than this guy. If anyone ever qualifies as a "depth piece", Sydir Mitchell seems to fit the definition. Having said that, LSU hadn't signed a transfer portal player at all at DT. I was just hoping Suggs would withdraw from the portal...this signing probably signals he wont be doing that.

I like this pickup, plus I believe in Coach Bo. I remember how he coached up Mount Cody for Bama Some years ago. That was the best D-Line I have ever seen in college football in my lifetime.
