This phrase, “Welcome to the LSU touchtone registration system. Please enter your request”, will forever be ingrained in my mind.

Chris Jackson was a force of nature on the court. He played a little over 20 years after Pete Maravich in the late 60’s. In the nearly 35 years since he arrived at LSU, there hasn’t been anyone like that here again. Hopefully there will be another one day.

Tremont Waters had a lil Chris in his game

Fully agree. IMO, Tremont was the best PG at LSU since Chris. But Mahmoud (Chris) is still, to this day, the best player I've ever seen play at LSU (Maravich was before my time). For context, he was Steph Curry before Steph Curry...and probably better!

Dale didn't put any restraints on him, so there were some games where he was just too selfish. But when he was on there was NO ONE who could stop him. His cross-over an ability to immediately get up a shot off of it was unparalleled. This wasn't the days of analytics where some shots were "good" and some were "bad". Every shot was a good shot for Jackson and he could score from anywhere on the court.

CJ also INVENTED the between the legs, then straight up into your jump shot all in one motion move.

EVERBODY in college and NBA does it today, but you won't find video of anybody doing it before Chris.

I bet UNLV and Jerry Tark remembers CJ35.

One man show took down #1 UNLV.

Ricky Blanton33 was the freaking man. Took down #2 Georgetown with a last second shot too.

A lot of great very likeable LSU players from that era.

He’s still my all-time favorite LSU basketballer.

Him, Shaq and the Pistol are the greatest 3 on 3 team you can put together from one college. Find me a better 3, find it!
