A serious question: what it the allure for a berm in the outfield? Is is the possibilty/potential of LSU allowing beer out there? Beyond that, sitting on grass..muddy wet grass after spring/early summer rains..does absolutely nothing for me.

At Swayze it's more of a tiered grass seating area where you bring your tailgate chairs to sit on. Would actually look pretty cool with the Intimidator behind it.

Louisiana in general and LSU tailgating specifically is all about food and drink. A berm would give LSU fans a chance to watch the game, grill, and drink.

Win, win, win.

And it looks just like every other new stadium: curved grandstand that's only half shaded where you sit a mile from the field and that looks like it belongs in the 70's.
The Box has character, a nostalgic link to the old Box, purple and gold seats, a design reminiscent of the ball parks of a century ago - but with lots of concessions, bath rooms, a video board, and one of these:

Don't think that Baum has that!!!
Sure, I'd like to see the upper concourse extended, and chair-backs for all of you folks not under the grandstand. But I wouldn't trade the Box for Baum or any other stadium.

I'll check but I think you're right, Baum does not have a sign showing LSU's national championships.

When was the last time any team has been intimidated by that sign? Come on, clown.

slapahoe did his homework, they do not have one. Why you'd build a brand new stadium and not include that is beyond me though.

Big LSU fan and Baton Rouge native here. And I went to Ole Miss for undergrad.

Their baseball atmosphere blows ours out of the water. We have 2,000 more people and make half the noise. In college people would wheel kegs onto the RF berm. They setup permanent grills so people turn it into an all day event.

Ole Miss right field is one of the coolest things in all of college athletics.

It is tiered with flat gravel levels that are meant for folding chairs. No one sits on the ground and if they did it wouldn't be muddy. It is lined with concrete on each layer.

Has bathrooms, grills, etc.

Also, not pertaining to this, but still cool, after each inning the outfielders throw their warmup ball into the students. They write hilarious shite on it and throw it back out next inning. The players get a kick out of reading all the shite on there.

a lot of competition for things to do around here during the early spring for college students.
Boiling crawfish+drink all day>>>>sit in the box, sweat, and watch what's become a dull product sober

like you said, this would make it an event and probably boost student attendance, but you're average boxtard believes they made college baseball and student attendance isn't necessary for a collegiate baseball team...
