as for the int, that happens no big deal.

It shows a lack of improvement from last year. In the Ole Miss game last year, we were in FG range with a chance to win, and JJ took a sack. His interception came in a two minute drill, where you can't take a sack, and it happened because he was backpedaling from the rush and decided too late to try and throw it away but didn't have the arm strength to reach the sidelines. Now JJ has plenty of arm strength, but not many people can throw the ball very far when backpedaling at the same time.

I would say about a 5-6. Based on him being in his 3rd year. Still making those mental mistakes that are costly,,,

if it was his 1st year starting i would give him an 8, but this is his 2nd year as a junior starting, i give him 5.5.
intentional grounding is an experience mistake

The pick and the intentional grounding hurt him, but the great pass to Randle sure helps him. But, of course, we don't know what his options are on each play and how well he did at going through them and selecting the right one. His stats looked OK, and that pass to Randle looked good, so I guess he gets about a 6.

Rating of 5-6. This kid still has that dumb & confused look on his face each and everytime instead of stepping up and being a leader, he is a dazed and confused Junior. Intentional grounding, cannot call an audible, etc. I look forward to him graduating next year just like I was glad Russell left his JR year so we could win an 07 title with Flynn.

4 - but I knock him 4 points just for taking a sack and grounding call while in field goal range.

He did show a lot of progression before that intentional grounding call. He stood in the pocket on several passes and made plays, whereas last year he'd run straight back and take a sack. He improved his running too.

However, he showed zero progression in going through reads, mechanics/accuracy. The dude has some pretty terrible mechanics. 3 yard passes turn into a chore to catch by him and his throwing motion allows the defense to adjust faster. Still locks onto his first read and definitely still holds the ball too long. On his long passes, even then, he was holding the ball way too long. It was just his o-line was giving him good protection...

He gets a 3 in my book. It isn't just passing. He still can't run the option. He still misses the read on the DE on handing off or keeping it. And he still doesn't seem to know what he's doing.

you do realize this is coaching right? Hell JJ probably knows he can't run the option but yet they keep calling it. Don't blame him.

I give him a 7.

Could have been higher if the coaches would let him sling it around to our mega talented receivers.

The interception had no impact whatsoever on the game being right before halftime, though it was a horrible decision.

The interception was at the end of the first half and was irrelevant from what I recall. He was just trying to make something happen.

Still, I'd give him a 5. I thought it was an average QB performance. If the scale is against his own skills, it was probably a 7.

Moore from Boise State gave a 7 performance.

As an LSU comparison, Rohan Davey had several 9+ level performances in his career.
