My perspective is that OBJ saw a bully picking on his "little brothers" and he took action.
Telling the guard to leave them be would have been futile. If he punched the guard, he'd be arrested.
His well placed "Good Game" worked perfectly to get the attention off the players without getting himself arrested. OBJ was a MFin hero in that lockerroom.

So a little money exchanged hands to stop the process.

It would be a municipal offense, and the city attorney probably told the commissioned security guard they weren't going to prosecute that shite so he dropped the complaint to save some face.

Warrant was for state battery. Would be prosecuted by the District Attorney in municipal court.

He needs to fire his lawyer then! A good lawyer would have gotten him way, way more! $100k is top end but doable because of OBJ's run ins with the NFL since he entered the NFL. Nah he could have gotten a lot more, $6,666.00 might sound like a lot of money for one slap on the arse, and it is! But you can't look at it that way, you can only look at it as, was that all he could have gotten and I am telling you ask any good lawyer $25k should have been a minimum number to accept. OBJ had no defense and was on tape, his arse was chicken fried if that cop wanted it to be!

Let’s just say a smart defendant gets to a plaintiff before they hire a lawyer.

True dat! But what you really mean is a smart agent, because no way that dumbass OBJ is smart enough to get out in front of it, no f*cking way!!!
