AL fans are buying them up 4 to 1 on LSU fans.
While I don't believe, like some posters, that we will have a 70/30 fan split in the dome, there's no way that Bama winds up with more fans in the stands. Even if they are buying the tickets at a 4:1 rate (which sounds quite high and rather made up with the lack of 'proof'), I believe that you are over estimating the amount of actual tickets on the market. There's quite a few tickets that go to local businesses/sponsors, which tend to be overwhelmingly pro LSU.

Our fans have a take it for granted attitude.
I don't know that 'take it for granted' is even close to an accurate analysis of our fanbase's attitude. And the fact that our opponent is Alabama makes the desire to attend the game even greater.
quote:
Bottom line is AL can fill up a 100,000 seat stadium for a spring game while we struggle to get 25,000 in Tiger stadium.
In all fairness, there's a lot more to do in south Louisiana in spring than in Alabama. If the game wasn't as meaningless as it is, then I think we would have no problem filling the stadium.

THe value of an LSU home game ticket to a vast majority of our fans is face, if that much. We think we have a bigger more loyal support base but facts prove otherwise.
Not sure if this is accurate or not, but I know that I have paid over face value for tickets to most of the LSU games I have attended, though I have only been to 6 games in my life... being poor ain't easy. Ironically, the only time that I didn't pay more than face value for a ticket to see LSU play was at BDS in 01' when the group that I went with paid $80 for $300 of tickets. Got to watch Josh Reed have 294 yards receiving for roughly $14 was pretty sweet.

ANd you do realize that at least half of those people from New Orleans are Tulane biased and have friends in AL.
Have you been to New Orleans? Saying that half of the people from here are Tulane biased is absolutely absurd. Maybe 1/2 of a select portion of the city, such as the garden district... possibly, but no way they carry that kind of support city wide.

what happened last time you guys played a "home game" in the dome
they don't send 50% of tickets to each school, it will probably be more like 25% percent of tickets go to each school then the rest is either open to the general public, or sponsors get to give out tickets. Being in Louisiana the majority of the sponsor tickets will go to LSU fans. Advantage LSU

yeah that was 70-30 UGA easily. They had homefield advantage and still lost also.
plus we beat Bama in BDS when it was like 99-1 Bama fans.
if we can beat you there we can beat you anywhere.

Why are Bama ppl still allowed to post in here? Shouldn't we ban them, it seems only fair.

Someone should remind these rednecks that Superdome does NOT accept donkeys and chickens as valid form of payment.
Better buy up your nasal medicine and work your redneck chemistry or else you can't afford to go gumps.

shite, half the students at Tulane aren't Tulane biased. Shawn King and the 1998 undefeated team couldn't fill the lower tier of the Dome. The university used to just give every student season tickets and they still wouldn't show up.

Yeah...just like it would be 50/50 if the game was played in Birmingham.

You guys can try all you want to say this is a home game but its not. It may have felt like an away game to Ohio State in 07' but Bama has won 3 NC's there (78', 79' and 92'). And of course we'll have 50% of the seats. Call it your house if you want but false impressions lead to big defeats. Its no more your home field than it is ours.
Crawl back in your hole GUMP.

Bottom line is that B-D stadium was 90-95% red on Nov. 5, and it still didn't make any difference.

It is in Louisiana, 1 hour from BR and you going to sit here and say it is no more our home field then it is yours,

Bama fans did bid higher and more deeply than LSU fans on BCS ticket reserve.
Posted on 12/6/11 at 8:04 am to tkr1407
you will have 30% at most. LA people subscibe to 25% every year regardless of who plays.

that may be true, but what does that have to do with the price of tea in China or the simple fact that the New Orleans Mid-Winter Sports Association aka the Sugar Bowl has already sold a whole bunch of tickets to sponsors in the NOLA area?

You're really talking less than 500 tickets at most. Jeez
Can we just let this thread die. It's a pissing contest that won't get answered definitively until Jan 9th. Anybody who has been to the MB Superdome knows that LSU will have a larger crowd, and anybody saying otherwise is just flaming.
LET this thread die....

I wonder if he knows that NOLA is where the Honey Badger is from?
