Who frickin cares Jesus. The atmosphere was great and I enjoyed the heck out of it. LSU is known for loud, drunk, and obnoxious fans. Especially known for inappropriate chants as well. Nothing is going to change that.

The OP is correct to call out this behavior. I am an old man and I don't want to see a bunch of classless punks represent the university I love. Our students need to clean up their act in football and basketball venues. Show some class, I realize your mommy is not there to scold you anymore so control yourself

The LSU athletic administration could solve most of this by putting the students back where they used to be - as far away from the visiting team's bench and their path to and from the visitors' locker room as possible.
Having the students behind the baseline puts them much closer to the opposing players and staff.
Other than the infamous tennis balls thrown at Dwayne Schintzius of Florida in the early 90's, the worst that ever happened with the old student section layout was a few balls of paper and maybe some ice thrown on the court, but never at the players after a game as far as I know.

OR....and work with me here, y'all....OR the people who attend the basketball game could have the common decency and sense to not throw things at people. Just sayin'. Is that too much to ask? Have we come to the point where it is too much to ask people who come into an arena not to throw objects at others?

Bet you didn't even go to LSU. You know why I think that? Because students have been acting classless for about a hundred damn years. It's what college students do.

There is a difference between that and throwing shite that could endanger somebody.

Move the students courtside and their cups can't reach the tunnel....

I don't know too many drunks that attend basketball games.
Drunk isn't what makes up the basketball crowd.

LSU students have been the trashiest student section in college sports for a while. Yes, I'm an old alum, and you embarrass the school.
It takes no talent or intelligence to be vulgar and crude. You prove it over and over. We had a better class of students in my time. Momma and daddy just didn't raise you right. Try to do better with your kids.

Nothing good ever happens when they say "F (insert whomever here)." Every time they do it to Saban, he kicks our arse in the final minute and makes them look like fools.

I agree with the "old man"...I was there when Dale came and we were loud....but never like the IDIOTS there today-and you know who you are- that represented themselves instead of LSU today....Bernard King came, Kentucky star after star, and if they beat us-we respected that.....but todays KIDs are just that...KIDs who havent grown up enough to respect a great game.

There were regular fan riots at LSU -Tulane football games in the 1920s and 1930s.
But I'm sure they were "classy" riots.

quote:Well, half of their players ignored the handshake at the end and crossed the court to jaw at the fans. That's when most of the shite was being thrown.
There was a good bit of stuff being thrown after the game ended.

Probably were. Students today wouldn't have the balls to get in a riot with opposing fans. They just chant vulgar chants, throw things from the safety of their seats, spout off from a computer keyboard. No guts, just kids with no morals. Sign of the times.

Fans are and always will be a product of how they were raised.....if the parents raised them to use the F word and other derogatory terms-then they are only doing what they were led to do.....we raise our children by example....
