Fact: Since the priority point system, the first game in which the number of points needed to get tickets was greater than just attending all home games was the 2007 National Championship.

Not speaking just about this game, but other games that we have in the bag, why does it matter if we throw a beach ball around or do the wave? I understand that in the first quarter it was a little premature, but in the 2nd half when we were winning and had the game in hand, why did it matter?

The student all know that alumni and others would love to see the student section abolished but Death Valley wouldn't be nearly as loud as it is without us. You can deny that all you want, but it's the truth. And instead of bitching about us doing the wave, why don't you stand up and support your team? The majority of the student section has more support for LSU's football team than most of the people that go to the games.

No you don't. If you did, you'd know that you're making the entire student body look ghey when you hit a beachball around and do the wave at a CFB game.

No...I think you're making up bullshite via the interwebs.

Are you attempting to submit that having a wife and kids is "bad"?? Either way, I'm not married, and don't have kids.

Again...swing and a miss...

You CLEARLY didn't know me in college, and you CLEARLY don't know me now.

Just cause someone knows when there's douchebaggery afoot, doesn't mean they're too "serious"

It doesn't...but this game wasn't in hand until late in the 4th.

Other games, I don't really care.

why do people care if people are hitting beach balls around? if you don't want to, don't. i wouldn't say it makes the school look bad though

I know this guy personally, and trust me, there is no way he can hit a beach ball around the student section.

We get that idea because every alumnus bitches about the student section every game of every year. We all know that you don't really like us and we personally don't give a damn. Last year when the student section yelled out "F you tebow" there was a relatively large uproar from the STUDENTS, not just administration and everybody else. When something is completely unacceptable, most students will speak up and try to put a stop to it.

*sigh*

You still haven't really answered my original post or the reasoning behind it.

You are given points for the away games already. It doesn't matter if it is 1, 5, 42, or 1 billion points. It is all relative, and the act of attending one game away puts up ahead of all of the home goers. What more do you want?

Margins don't matter, only ranking. So the only possible purpose of increasing the weight of the away games to ANYTHING more than a home game (especially the 2x thing) basically amounts to a trade off: I went to this game, so I want to basically have the same ranking position as anyone who went to that game even if I don't attend what I consider a shitty home game. And if I go to a single away game, I can just miss 2 home games and still have the same ranking as those who attended all of the home games.

And that is BS.

So I'll say it again: the only possible reason of increasing the weight of the away game I see is they want to be able to miss a home game. And that is BS. I would only support an after the fact addition where if you attend all of the home games you are given one "excused" home absence. But no partial credit or any benefit for just attending one or two away games.

The system basics is fine as is as far as points awarding goes. Only possible changes I can see is something to give credit for attending an away game outside of the desingated student section, and maybe half credit for an home game for leaving before 7:30 left in the 4th quarter

It's just kinda ghey.

It further fuels speculation that Tiger Stadium is regressing from one of the world's premiere sports venues into a "social event" for morons who don't give two shits about LSU football.

I have never heard anything even remotely close to this ever mentioned before today. Where are you all hearing this stuff? The student section "abolished"??? That's preposterous.

quote:

And instead of bitching about us doing the wave, why don't you stand up and support your team?

I do.

Why don't you stop playing with a beachball and support your team?

I DON'T sit down...but if I did, surely if you can support your team while hitting a beachball around, then I could do so while sitting...if I were so inclined....which I'm not

This is true. However, like with most things in life, the minority of douchebags have the power to make the whole of the fanbase look like degenerates. Even if most of the fans are great.

Hence the petitions for dumb girls who think a "quarterback" is a refund and weirdos who think they're representing LSU well by starting the wave (when our main rivals are the Tulane Green WAVE and the Alabama Crimson TIDE!) in the first quarter out of apparent boredom to stop.

Pretty sure that as long as there has been a priority point system, bonuses were given to those who went to away games.

I could be mistaken though. Was there priority points before 2005?

I'm an alumnus and enjoy the student section enough to still sit in it. Its just becoming quite embarrassing that the general knowledge and support for the football team has an appearance to be on the decline...not just the student section, but the entire stadium. And beachballs in the 2nd quarter are a prime example...

Alright, I have no fricking idea what you're talking about. I'm an alumnus, and the student section is an absolute MUST in TS! I still try to sneak in every game

The alumni that bitch are probably the uppity, snobby, bitchy legislators that get free tickets and whose section is right next to the students. These are the absolute worst fans. I had to sit with them last night

Damn...I forgot how "the world is out to get me" teenagers were

I don't know a single alumnus who doesn't like the student or the student section of TS.

Are you saying people "don't like" you because of the profanity and the tomfoolery?

It was enacted beginning in 2005. First game it was used for were for the 2006 auburn game.

Initially, away game points were 2, then raised to 5 following the 2006 year.

i understand your theory volvagina now, but-the i think the competition among the students would be too great to "risk" missing a weak home game be/c your got the extra away game points be/c so many more people would travel and be trying to get the most points they can.

plus, if a student willingly misses a home game in tiger stadium-your tickets should be revoked. period. and get a swift kick in the balls.
