Drinking doesn't require standing all day.

Neither does tailgating.

That's why God gave us technology to have folding chairs.

I had foot surgery, maroon. That doesn't limit my drinking, not in the least.

Now go play.

I don't understand. You said you don't want people standing in front of you and smoking? Who is doing that?

I'm saying the admin will F-themselves if they mess with the student section

And the studenst will F the reputation of the entire university. They will do something, as they did with the PMAC, and the tickets points system, and parking passes, etc

When money is involved right now, they could care less what's in the future. Only one group of students wont donate. the ones that got moved.

The following years classes will never know the difference, just like future groups in the PMAC. It just the way it is, and they will accpet it.

Two student types were sitting behind us and lit up.

Some other maroon was standing up the entire game, even though there were TV timeouts.

It's inconsiderate to stand in front of someone if:

1. no one else is standing (and I can understand if something exciting is happening that people stand)

2. they are old (i.e. someone's father and a husband/wife couldn't see around the idiot who was standing).

The entire point of this thread is that all through life you have to have common courtesy and respect for others around you. This isn't a free for all. You can't go through life doing what YOU want with no regard for others.

If you do, it comes back to bite you in the arse.

seriously, if you don't think they are taking into account their future, obviously you didn't learn anything while enrolled, maybe take a finance class, or any business class for that matter.

Yeah, students won't wonder why they go to the only school in the SEC that puts their students in the upper deck.

I am a student and sit in the student section and also get there 2 and a half hours early to be there when the gates open to have the opportunity to be very close to the field. With that said I yell and am hoarse after every game and contribute to an intimidating atmosphere without joing in with the F you spurrier and F you tebow. This crosses the line and gives a bad image. Taking away Oo-ee-Oo I think is a little far as I only heard "You suck" this past game. With that said the students on here defending the chanting of F you is ridiculous. There are children, national tv etc. Even if you do not agree with the reasons you need to realize that Skip, the administration etc. are not going to tolerate it and start to take away tickets. They did it last year when there was low attendance and they will do it again to help our image. So as a fellow student I suggest stopping as you will contribute to other people (most likely incoming freshman) unable to attend games next year due to lack of tickets. Saying the f-bomb does nothing to intimidate anyone they hear it all the time. The stadium is intimidating because of noise and that can be achieved in ways other than this.

So it wasn't the STUDENT SECTION that you were complaining about standing and smoking. Plus, you weren't positive that they were in fact students.

How much do you pay for a stud ticket?

When I was there they were free.

That has changed, yet no one holds it against the Univ

If they sold those seats, how much could they make & stick in the bank. If ESPN stops coming how much does that effect us now. U need to retake your business course. trying to sell something that few want, only lowers its value.

I gladly pay $12 for my ticket to be an elite program. You want to keep your coach from going to michigan, you want a stadium that holds 92,000, you have to pay. Times have changed. Inflation: get an old econ book and look up its meaning. The price to be a contender is rising. You paid $0 to be mediocre/average/decent, I pay $12 to be a top 5 football program.

I'm telling you: screw your students now, pay for it later.
If you honestly think ESPN and CBS will stop coming here because of cursing your crazy. They're in the money making business too. How can they justify passing up Florida/LSU for an inferior game to their sponsors. They can't.

1. Just because other people around you suck, doesn't mean you should too.

2. Anyone who is too old to stand up for LSU football needs to be watching the game from home.

bnac has a hard-on for the band. May as well get rid of it, they're useless and have zero effect on the proceedings.

I know this doesn't justify our chants at all, but Wisconsin's student section was heard chanting "F*ck you, eat sh*t"

...atleast our cheers have SOME point

The crowd at Gameday Final chanted "Teabag Tebow" for 5 minutes, everyone there was not a student....... is that chant so much more "classy" than saying "be my bitch" ?

Anything relating to Tebow can be excused, despite being a good player hes just a douche

bnac5 if you had a different opinion on the subject, and were in charge, what do you think the best way to stop the f-bomb chants would be?

Do you realize that current students eventually become alumni? Why would they donate after they graduate if that happened to them. I don't think skip will go out as AD making that call

you have a lot to learn bnac. When I started at lsu ticket prices were $3 for students and there were no limits on upgrades. parking was abundant all over campus. even non-academic related things change. the school contiunues to screw students with expanding into parking lots. selling out food services. cutting off student traffic on campus. you know the only consistent thing is students will get screwed then graduate and become $$$ contibuting boosters of the program. trust me!!! i did my share of complaining while a student and now i am a member of TAF and contribute money cause i love watching football.

the point is, the ath. dept. doesn't have to cater to the students. there are plenty of people willing to take your seat in the stadium. we both know that the student section will never disappear. but you should realize that it can and will shrink. the students NEVER realize that dispite the fact that they are the reason LSU exists, the truly have NO power. trust me buddy, it sucks. welcome to the real world!

Penn State's student seating accounts for 21,220 seats in Beaver Stadium. How many does LSU allot?
