You wouldn't like sitting in the upper deck. No one to hear you but God and unless your daddy was a glassmaker, you won't be standing in front of me.

Your either help the football team or you hurt them by what you say/do. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but it will have an impact one way or another eventually on our team.
Do the students who yell the obscenities really think that the players/coaches care less what we as fans say/do? Does anyone remember the full page ad and the repeated announcements on the radio/TV for the Va. Tech game?
The power of your of your words are far more reaching than you think. Already, the national media is taking measures so that American doesn't hear the obscenities (America got to hear a miked up Florida band and their fans all game). Parents and/or high character kids that are great athletes (I assume that's what we all want here @ LSU) don't want to hear it. In the least, it distracts from what could be the greatest year in Tiger football history.
On a personal note, I don't want to have to explain to my six year old girl what you're chanting. LSU games are such a great experience w/o it being tarnished in such a way.
Please stop.

I agree.
Some potential recruits could be watching the game on TV and they hear FU's band but not LSU's.
What would YOU think if you didn't hear the home team's band?
If I'd have never experienced Tiger Stadium, I'd be thinking the place was LAME.

Student section!! (kind of long)
I have to say, text me tebow, given the week's events, would have been clever. F you tebow- not clever at all. Any jackass can say that.
That's the same thing I've tried getting across to these numbskulls time and again...
It's not just the classlessness of frick-chants.
It's <ignorant>. It's NOT in the slightest bit, clever or witty.
IT'S NOT EVEN EFFECTIVE TAUNTING!!! You are an IDIOT if you think Tebow was the slightest bit daunted by "frick You Tebow!"

Actually he seemed pretty motivated by it judging from his performance.
IN SUM, frick-Chants are Ineffective, Classless, and Ignorant. There is no reasonable basis for it.
THink up something foul and at least creative or effective and we can talk; 2 out of 3 ain't bad...
If you think it's not classless, you have no class.
If you think it's not ignorant, you must be brainless to think simply shouting frick You is creative.
If you think it's effective, you must know nothing about sports.
That about covers it.

How many recruits make a decision to go to a school based on its band? I would bet everything I have on zero.

Atmosphere. Atmosphere.
You still don't get it.
Need me to spell it out for you? Or do you even know how?

a recruit doesnt give a crap about the band on tv. If you don't agree you are dumb. Plus, if a recruit is interested in LSU and LSU in them, they will be invited to a game. When recruits come out before games the student section cheers for them.
Which do you think they're more appreciative of?

Please stop collectively referring to the LSU student body as "the students". There's the Greek section and then those other people in the pit, with the band separating them. Please don't lump us together with the garbage across from the band.
Coming from someone sitting in the Greek section, this guy is obviously a d-bag. I would just ignore him.

And you're immature for someone born 23 years ago for calling someone dumb for what, disagreeing with you?
The fact of the matter is, the powers that be at LSU will continue to change things until the students stop acting like they're entitled. They're not. Football tickets are a PRIVILEGE, not a right and can be used as a bargaining tool.
The students shouldn't be the impetus for changing long standing traditions (band songs, etc.) Their actions are pure SELFISHNESS.
Wait and see, Grasshopper.

No, not for disagreeing with me but for thinking that hearing a band on TV sways a potential recruits decision. I understand you have a right to your opinion, but I will let you know when I think that opinion is completely absurd. You are just trying to find any excuse you can for putting down the students actions.
I don't participate in those chants or condone them. I am just tired of your off base reasons why those chants hurt LSU. I'm also tired of hearing how much pull you have, where you sit, what parties you go to, and how much you tailgate. If you want to complain to the admin, go ahead because that's your right. Stop threatening it and just do it.

student section in the upper deck, now that would please a bunch of season ticket holders. moving down into some better seats. contributions to TAF would go up, more points would be bought, etc.
If Skip hears of this, it's a done deal. I mean really what would the students do about it???
Cuss Skip out?

I already did it to the AD and the Chancellor.
If you're tired of it, then please don't read or respond to my posts.
Maybe when you grow up and have YOUR children in the stands, you'll take offense to what is said around you.
I take offense to SELFISH people thinking they can stand in front of me the entire game, thinking they can smoke around me or thinking they can say what they want.
If life was like that, there would be no rules, no police, no marshalls at the LSU games.
It would be complete disarray.
Bottom line is that MONEY TALKS AND BS WALKS.
We'll see who wins -- the students or the AD/LSU Admins/Band Directors/TAF donors.

Do you realize that current students eventually become alumni? Why would they donate after they graduate if that happened to them. I don't think skip will go out as AD making that call

So you want the students to sit down? This isn't michigan. I thought you wanted a good "atmosphere"

Do you realize cuurent students will also mature one day. HAve you missed the posts from all the former students who agree that things are out of hand?
Plus, if thats their take on life, I dont think extra money to give back to LSU is going to be something they have to worry with. Finding a job will be tough enough.

by the way bnac5, you are completely owning this argument. Personally, good luck recruiting with the students in the upper deck, I guarantee you if that happened, when I am an alum, I would not donate.

I'm a season ticket holder, not a student section participant, and YES, we stand up, but not for the entire game.
It has nothing to do with not wanting to stand up, it has everything to do with not being able to stand up for 3 1/2 - 4 hours plus.

yes they will mature, but when young students come to lsu and wonder why they are sitting in the upper deck, why would they want to give money as graduates? I know i wouldn't. They already screwed up the student section at the PMAC by splinting it in two. The atmosphere there is not nearly what is was.
Look, I don't like the F-U chants. I'm saying the admin will F-themselves if they mess with the student section
