I hate that damn word "PC." And frankly, i don't give a shite what is and isn't PC. Up to your standards at least. What makes frick any worse than bullshite? In my mind nothing, there both words we're "not supposed to say." I understand you have an idea in your mind and you are trying to persuade a whole bunch of drunk college kids that your way is right, and we should conform to you, and rest of the older folks bc they have more money than us, and they'll take away our seats. frick it, ya'll wish ya'll had that kind of power, but you don't. Get off your high horse.

i'm okay with that. hey, sometimes less is more. do you realize how much classier and civil Tiger Stadium would be.

This isn't an opera and 90% of the stadium has been drinking during the day.

i did not really notice it at the game but i did when watching the game last night. i thought it was trashy.

i would definately like for the students to come up with something a bit more clever.

but i remember what it was like to be 18 to 21. and i probably would have thought the "F U tebow" chant was the coolest thing ever.

just saying i hate it but well that is what kids do. they see it as standing up to the man.
I understand what you are saying and I remember playing FSU when I was younger and the F U Semenholes when we got tired of their endless tomohawk chant. Now I know the other side when I could hear the tebow chear clearly on national tv. I hate to say it, but I really don't think it helped our image and it made us look more like what the other boards describe us as, and we disagree with. Also, the more we do this on national tv, the more chance that the school is going to do something about it. Abd before anybody says that this would be unheard of and they would never do something, remember that they have already had to change certain portions of the band's routines due to the student and their cheers, so it can be done.

the pussification of America continues indeed. The student section tickets should have been voided for f-bombs. Then maybe those who can't control their juvinile behaviour will have it controled for them.

Maybe one game would be enough, maybe not.

I was a young punk myself, so I try to be patient, but your insistance on stealing attention from football team over f-bombs in public, on t.v. for goodness sakes. no class
I am not sure what to make of your post. Are you for or against the cheering in this way? Don't get me wrong, the language does not do anything for me either way as I said and heard much worse in the Navy, but there is a time and place for everything, and I would not have said that those cheers would look good for us on tv.

doesn't matter 'what' makes it worse. i won't argue that, but the fact is there is a difference.

i curse like a sailor when around my friends. they don't care. on occasion, i'll say shite in front of my mom. but i've never dropped f-bombs in front of her. why? cause there is a difference and it bothers her. i know that and out of respect i honor her wishes.

I'm not on a high horse.

You're giving the AD VALID ammunition to pull some student tickets.

I believe ANY student who wants to go to games should be able to, but I also believe that they should not cast our great university in a bad light on NATIONAL (or even regional or local TV).

With that being said, I'm have a pretty good TAF ranking and I am friendly with people in the right places. I went to a party for high dollar donors a few weeks ago that the Chancellor threw.

If enough of us complain about the vulgarities coming out of the student section, seriously, WHO DO YOU THINK WILL WIN THIS ARGUMENT????

Time for a reality check, son.

And as I posted in another post, call me old if you want, but I'll bet my last dollar that most of you students weren't out at the CBS early show like I was at 5:00 a.m. or out on campus all day the days GAME DAY was here. I left the game hoarse WITHOUT screaming FU.

I can outyell, outdrink and outtailgate any one of you people who think you're entitled and God's gift to the student section.

ding ding ding.

And he's too dumb to see it only hurts his group, the students. The students are the only ones who could possibly lose out on this...yet he continues to defend the position.

Nothing to gain, everything to lose is not a good position to be in.

haha. i'm willing to bet i've logged more hours already this year tailgating then 80% of the students will all season long. i'm 30 and out party every student that tailgates with us. our oldest krewe members are in their 70's and they hit campus by 8am every game.

dead on. it didn't take me long when i was a student to realize we had no power and the admins could do as they please when given just a little bit of ammo.

Its not PC its class. Its also more of a sign of society than it is just our students. The student section is not chanting anything you don't hear on campus or in a normal workplace on any given weekday.

I still think its classless, but thats not going to change anything.

I thought it was cool when I was in the student section to do the nasty chants and to get the high rankings for being "#1 Party School". Until I would tell folks I went to LSU during job interviews, and they would just snicker and say "oh, yeah - easy, it was just a party school".

Once these students get in the real world, and employers start associating them with the "low class LSU" fans - they might understand why the rest of the Tiger faithful are embarrassed on their behalf. That and it impacting their paychecks ...

i'm done arguing this, we'll just have to agree to disagree, some of us just have better opinions than others, and frankly, good luck getting rid of the greatest thing in tiger stadium(the student section) it won't happen, why? We're that damn good, and they need us as much as we need them.

Don't worry DAZtigers, you weren't the only one embarrassed by the student section's classless chants. The Greek section found the widespread usage of arguably the most explicit word in our language pretty repulsive as well. I had a professor say he may not be bringing his 6-yr. old son to any more games. Is that what you want? And what's with the GDI section giving Tebow hell for wearing jean shorts? Most of you cheesedicks throw on your best pair of jean shorts/cargo shorts and a t-shirt for the game. Put on a polo at least before you give anyone else fashion tips. Terrible ...

are you kidding me? yall show up to one game all year and are finally active in the game. Its 90 degrees all day and I am going to where a t-shirt to the game. We are not tulane or ole miss and we do not need to wear polos or suits to a game. Very good argument, the problem is we weren't wearing polos

i agree here, screw the greeks that show up for one game, and actually stay the whole time without leaving for the bar. Sorry we aren't sheep who have to dress in suits, and polo's for the "preppy" look.

They may not get rid of y'all but they can disperse y'all around the stadium.

Think about it. A little group on the north side of the east upper, a little group on the south side of the east upper (same for the west upper), a little group in the south and a little group in the north.

All those season ticket holders complaining they can't hear the band would be grateful for seating in the north end zone.

Don't be so confident that LSU won't take action if y'all don't start acting like you're over the age of 10.

one last thing, please do that, it would great, then we could all stand up in diff sections, and therefore, the whole stadium will finally have to stand and be involved in the game and our chants, i love the solution.
