Retiring? Isn’t he in his 40’s?

Being the equipment manager at LSU must pay pretty well.

Longtime head of equipment/assoc AD of equipment going into private business running a training center near campus.
quote:

In 2022, Elite Training Academy partnered with Ochsner to build a $22 million, 65,000-square-foot facility near the intersection of Burbank and Lee drives. Stringfellow said the company offered him an ownership stake and recruited him to help finish building the facility and oversee its day-to-day operations once it opens. The academy will offer athletes of all ages everything from speed and strength training to orthopedic medical care.

I'm sure he will be....he'll put you in touch with the new guy I'm sure it'll be fine...

It was Burrow's last season, did you hear it...Jordy Culotta had Joe's Mom on...and said something about a jersey or something and said he'd see about getting it signed, or I really can't remember what it was exactly, but he said...he'd check with "G-string"...all Burrow's Mom heard was...G-string...She said..Excuse me?? Jordy, said..sorry, sorry, that's our nickname for Greg Stringfellow, the equip. manager

And hopefully the new guy gives recruits updated jerseys to wear for visit photoshoots and not the ones from the Les miles days

What does this mean? Was String a 2nd generation equipment manager?

He worked there for 30 years & Nader ain’t 100 years old

I have a CSB about Greg.

He was a student assistant equipment manager when I was a walk-on under Hallman.
I remember how hard he worked in everything he did for the team. And how he was just as attentive to us lowly walk-ons as he was to the likes of Jamie Howard, Chuck Wiley, and Gabe Northern.
Greg busted his arse every day an HOUR before we even showed up for 530 am workouts and would be in the laundry cage sorting clothes after practice in the evenings.
Greg was everywhere. And he was happy to do it with a smile on his face.

I don't know him personally but would love to let him know how he positively impacted 18 yr old me back in 1994 and still does in 2024.

He's probably 51 or 52. Couple of years older than me. But looks better for sure.

I only lasted a semester as an Equipment Manager grades and partying… Greg was there and a good guy. Glad he’s turned this into something awesome for himself. Jeff Boss was the man.

This is disappointing.

Greg Stringfellow cut his teeth under Jeff Boss in the early 90s and worked for LSU Football for over 30 years

He absolutely needs to be in the LSU Athletics Hall Of Fame someday.

Just seems like it. I am 61 and Coach Nader started at LSU when I was 11 (1974).

I had the honor to work with Greg in the equipment room back in the early 90's. I am proud to call him a friend, but most importantly I'm proud we are part of our own fraternity called the "Boss Boys". Jeff Boss was a legend and he made everyone around him better. I know Coach Boss is shining down on Greg as he embarks on this new journey. Greg, good luck as you enter this new chapter. As "JB" would say, "this ain't no hill for a stepper".

Congrats G-String!!!!
