Stop sleeping on this defense. Auburn is going to be wild.

These two havent played unranked since 93ish.

Their offense is pretty bad.

The defensive front is becoming nasty, we are tied for first in turnover margin.

LSU leads the conference in sacks, and are currently 9th in the country in doing so.

LSU is 2nd in the conference for defensive touchdowns, and 9th in the nation.

This tells me and any other levelheaded fan that while we have busted several coverages and gotten burnt, we are getting to the QB and forcing mistakes. Then capitalizing on them.

To add, Ricks and Stingley are clicking a bit better now. Bo Nix isnt going to like what he sees.

Missouri's offense was pretty bad too.

Don't get me wrong, the defense looked better on Saturday. But it was also South Carolina and we are still giving up too many big plays. I'm going to reserve judgment on this defense and continue to "sleep" on this defense until they prove otherwise.

Auburn runs a ton of misdirection, and our defense has struggled with that this year.

Yeah this game will be determined like SEC games have for years past. Can we stop the run better than they can. If so we win if not we probably lose.

I'm assuming that Brennan won't be 100% and we start Finley. This should actually open up some QB runs for us, and maybe neutralize their dline a bit, which is the strength of their team.

With that in mind, LSU's strategy will likely be to play ball control, keep the chains moving, and be efficient with scoring. If we do that and get a handful of stops, we win. Auburn will definitely catch us biting on the misdirection a few times, but we just gotta play through that and try to get enough stops to win. I think it will come down to a possession or two, and then we'll really see what Finley is made of. The guy seems pretty poised -- reason for optimism.

Who's sleeping on this defense?

I mean, they certainly haven't knocked anyone out.

Watching this defense is like living in a haunted house. Just when you think everything is calm, kitchen knives fly at you the kids go to screaming and the tap water turns to blood.

No one can sleep when everything you expect is replaced by horror. So I ask again, who's sleeping?

They should tell Clark to run the opposite direction he thinks he should.

AU has a better offense that Mississippi state and we managed to make THEM look like on of the greatest offenses in history.

1st game. Not saying we're great on defense all of the sudden, but not a fair comparison.

Auburn is going to score 40+

I also think their defense will be MUCH more aggressive with Finley than USC was

If anything, some of our defensive players have been sleeping on the field and/or the film room

Are you saying South Carolina is worse than Missouri? Maybe it’s possible that the defense, although not nearly there yet, actually improved during the BYE...?
