this is like saying Les Miles had good quarterbacks. recruiting is a guessing game.
Georgia and Alabama and every NC football team doesn’t make it seem like a guessing game in recruiting.

Hitting good against weaker teams. Errors not much of a factor when you score lots of runs. Look at the teams they beat vs. teams they lost to. With SEC games moving on, ouch.

Agreed.
I still believe the fact that the best athlete on the team playing first base tells a great deal about many of the issues.

Since when is a college baseball team with Jacob Berry, Cade Doughty, Dylan Crews, Tre Morgan and Gavin Dugas* a team that isn't talented?
Every single one of them are slumping right now.
Also, none of them pitch, and most of them play in the outfield.
I'm ok winning games 13-11. But when our hitters slump - and all hitters slump - we are screwed.

Money is legit
Taylor, Lansville, Rez, Gervase.. all can get there but aren't there yet
Coleman is hurt
Fontenot is what he is. A strong end of game pitcher who sometimes makes horrific mistakes.
Edwards is sophomore slumping

I agree, can we also cease with the “he’s not an SEC coach” or “this was a bad hire” threads until you know maybe at least season is done?

Pitching talent is fine, he’s misused guys all season so far. We’re not good in the field and a lot of that is on his personnel choices as well. This team isn’t underperforming because of talent.

Yes there is tons of talent. Pitching and defense wins championships. We have 1 phase which is hitting. On the other hand they have underachieved at that as well. Too many strikeouts and guys left on base.

I agree he misused pitchers. I disagree we are talented at pitching. We have 1 starting pitcher and I am not sure he is gonna perform all year yet. We have a pretty good bulletin. To compete in the SEC you need starting pitching and 5-6 trusted relievers. We don’t have that.

The problem is because he’s failed to define roles there’s no way to game out how to use the bullpen arms or even who you can trust to start. Not saying the season is lost, I’m not giving up on JJ or the boys but there’s been way too much chaos throughout the team when we had stability in certain areas. Nothing is buttoned up I guess is my overall view of it.
