The #7 Jersey hasn't really meant much over the past few years....

He clearly should've seen a doctor and got other opinions. He most likely knew he couldn't go a full season once he got back in pads.

I don't blame him because this season is a wash and he's going to prepare for the draft.

But I do think it's skeptical that he didn't get surgery sooner to actually have a chance to come back 100%. He said in his own comment on OP he hopes to be back this season. We all know that's not gonna happen. Had he had surgery sooner though he would be able to.

So much dumb in one post. So if I’m following your logic, the timeline goes like this. Sting hurts his foot in camp. He then decides he doesn’t want to have surgery and “plans” on injury flaring up again just so he can have the surgery later and “quit” on his team?

Or maybe, just maaaaybe, he was hoping his injury was rehabbed enough to allow him to play out the season and it just didn’t work out like he hoped.

This is the message that should have been communicated as soon as he was injured.

Honestly now, even the most crazy LSU fans realize that there is no reason he should return this year.

Funny thing is he announces his partnership with Waitr recently then boom hits this.

Wonder how that goes down in those NIL contracts...if he hurried and accepted or they knew this was coming.

Obv anyone dealing with him wants him to be on the field.....not posting stuff on the side for shits and gigs.

I feel like he was pressured into taking #7. Didn’t he say at the beginning of his career he was keeping #24 and wanted his own legacy?

I’m confused. Stingley left with an injury in practice, was said to have reinjured his foot, has worn a boot on the sidelines, and now has had surgery on said foot and people are still melting/coming up with conspiracies that he doesn’t want to play?

LSU fans love to tear down the best players on bad teams. LSU fans love tearing down players in general.

I sure hope the surgery was done by a foot and ankle specialist outside of BR.I'm sure his agent(Rocky) has connections to world class surgeons in New York,L.A. Atlanta, Boston, Dallas even Birmingham.

Sad...we got to enjoy him for a while anyway. He won't play for LSU again. His career in college was way too short but he'll make a nice payday on his first contract in the NFL. What he does with that is all on him. I'm glad we don't have to hear from his dad again.

Can’t really blame him if he doesn’t rush back to the field. There’s no upside to risking further injury when the season is already toast.

Stop projecting your butt hurt from Fournette, Chase, Marshall, etc. This is a totally different situation.

Fournette was legitimately hurt too and still tried to play through it all season before sitting out the bowl game. It was very clear watching him play in 2016 he was hurt. And he played in all but one our biggest games that year. He missed Jacksonville St, Missouri, Southern Miss, A&M, and the bowl game. We won all those games by blowout

Not surprising

Stingley says he hopes to be able to return to the field to finish the season with his teammates.

I can tell you he is heartbroken and wants to play again for LSU. But he’s about 99.9% to not.

He had gone elsewhere to see a specialist to see if he could avoid surgery. There would have been no way to announce sooner he was getting surgery until he knew he was actually getting surgery. He's been reported as out indefinitely since he first reinjured his foot. And I also don't know why this should have been communicated earlier? So the fans are more accepting of him actually being hurt?

That's exactly what he did

Why would he have known that?

Most people try to avoid surgery if it's possible.

His foot never healed he just played through it the first couple games so he could have a couple games of film before he had this surgery…which ultimately just made it worse….he already knew he was gonna need it months ago…
