Patrick Peterson And Tyrann Mathieu returned punts and that seemed to work out fine.

Exactly. “Bad enough they have him returning punts.” Oh the horror of a generational talent having the ball in his hands some.

Dreaming!
Stingley is too valuable as Cornerback.
He may get a few plays at WR in a blowout but none vs Alabama, Texas...
We are not weak at WR, so he is not needed there.

Derek Stingley, Jr might be the best pure athlete I have ever seen in any sport.

He is inferior to Deion Sanders who played the same position. How can you possibly say he is the best athlete in any sport? That is insane. He's a better athlete than Bo Jackson?

Won’t it only be his junior year if he does go both ways?

Next year is his sophomore year, but if we use him both ways, and for more than 20% of the offensive plays, he'll burn two years of eligibility, and he'll be eligible for the draft!

Stingley playing offense makes more sense his junior year because LSU is loaded at the WR position going into next season and who of the pass catchers do you want him to take receptions from? His junior season there could be a drop off in the WR unit and he could help with that.

I don't think we need him at WRs. We have really good WR depth.

and I also don't think NFL teams give a shite if he has a few snaps at WRs.

He isn't getting drafted high because teams like his versatility as a WR.

Hell look at PP7. He was a phenomenal PR in college and the pros and they eventually shut it down. You gotta know where you real value is.

A huge part of being a good corner is being able to change direction quickly, he would get in and out of routes and be a phenomenal route runner, and his hands speak for themselves. The dude would/will be phenomenal at receiver next year.

In the back of my mind I believe he would be the best person to replace JJ2 in the slot. You have to have someone who can catch reliably and in traffic. I would hate to lose him at corner but he could be as good as or better that Jets

Would he be more likely to get hurt at wide receiver than corner?

How many Wide receivers limped off the field after being hit by Stevens in the last two games.
How many DBs

Right because a guy that weighs 155 playing D end is the same as Derek Stingley playing receiver. Especially since it’s confirmed that coach O promised Stingley would play offense in his recruitment.

You do realize it’s the other way around? O had to talk them into it. Stingley’s dad agreed to it, but wants him to wait until his junior season before O gives him snaps on offense.

We have great wide receivers. Why would you try to take someone who's a phenom at his position that you rarely see with that skill set, and put them on offense like it's not important to have him on d.. hey Glen Dorsey. You're incredible at DT. Probably never see a better one for our team in a hundred years. You'll go down as the best. .. But uh... Wanna play tight end?

Why do you want this. Is ther some deficiency in the offense that he could fix or do you just want to be titilated by having a two way performer?

What O told a 17 year old recruit might be viewed differently by a more mature junior All American who is a top 5 pick and understands he lessens his risk by not being a target for tacklers. No doubt O would give his opportunity if he wants it but more intelligent assessment by everyone will rule.

I think we should just put him at QB so he can win the Heisman
