Internal and self deprecating! I like it:)
Seems smart but I can see why big head coaching job would wear him out. We really need offense to roll next year!!!

les definitely made a step up from crowton
We'll see what folk are saying this time next year
Krag may have the ability to impart life lessons to those that need them during a press conference about football. that may give him a longer honeymoon period.

Too me, option is all about spacing. Running it to the short side kills just about any chance of a big gain off the pitch. The RB automatically has to slow down while a QB can full out sprint. That throws off timing and spacing.
Keiland's long TD run in the 2007 Virginia Tech game was a short side option.
The SS option IS a valid play - if the blocking matchups are right and the QB is effective in running it.

Always did like Jimbo as an OC..

I seem to recall folk liking Crowton during the 2007 season but it was pretty much all down hill from there. People were probably more excited about Crowton when he was hired than Kragthorpe's hiring.

We all know that reality will rule. But what's wrong with being excited by the man's character, his intelligence, his stated goals, and his emphasis on the mechanics at the QB position? I hope that this time next year, we'll be celebrating another MNC, and Les will get the credit that he deserves for this hire.

Does he know how and when to call a time out?

Anyone know why his seasons at UL went so bad?

People can get as excited as they want. I think it's silly to state at this point in time that SK is a step up from Crowton.

There was a post about that and quite a bit of it was out of his control per coaches that UL kept and didn't allow him to hire his own staff, if I remember correctly.
I'm actually looking forward to football season already. Last year I wasn't for the first time in my life. I was damn happy we finished 11-2 and I feel so much better now with Crowton gone and Kragthorpe in. I think he's going to be a perfect fit at LSU.

Based on what you have seen and heard, are you excited?

No, but it's nothing personal or professional against SK. I wasn't excited when we hired Crowton. I like to see some results first, but even then, I'm not sure how much control he's going to have in a Les Miles offense.

This was one of the things, also had a few bad kids that he had to release. He was hired about three weeks from signing day. This was one job he should have passed on.

Excited ,yes.
Talked to friend today who told me his cousin played TE for Krags at Tulsa. The cousin has nothing but great things to say about Krags as a coach and man.
