Stevan Ridley is the man, but, I would think this would be a very inappropriate statement for a team member to make.

Lee just had 2 last-minute game winning drives in 2 weeks. It would be inappropriate NOT to commend him in the media.

Yeah we don't want to shake his confidence

I wonder if we could RS JJ next year until JL is graduated?

It's time Les gets Crowton on board with this and gives JLee 85% of the snaps.

Everyone has been behind Lee it is just Miles that thinks JJ is the superior qb.

From today's LSU Reveille

Is this true. If so, I'd be interested to see what Miles has to say about this. Wish one of the reporters would have asked Miles about this today at his press conference.

Yea... all the WR's and RB's would stand behind Lee. Jefferson will be pretty pissed in that corner by himself.

The Ridleys quote is being blown way out of proportion. The quote was just to show support for Lee and not to say they don't support JJ.

I agree, I don't see anything inappropriate there. Looking at that link posted, I thought this was interesting:

quote:

Rank Player Pos. Team. Att. Comp. Pct. Yds. Y/A Long TD INT Sack Rating
13 Jordan Jefferson, QB LSU 101 53 52.5 549 5.4 51 2 7 6 90.8
14 Jarrett Lee, QB LSU 36 27 75.0 330 9.2 47 2 1 2 164.8

Lee's Completion % and QB rating are through the roof IMO, just unbelievable
That 164.8 rating is good enough for 5th in the SEC, granted with less than half the attempts of almost everyone else

I agree. He is merely supporting Lee, not choosing Lee over JJ in this statement. He may prefer Lee... but that is by no means clear in this statement; and it shouldn't be taken out of context to support a pro Lee argument.

He is definitely choosing Lee over Jefferson. He said "Lee is our QB".

Let him play!! He's clearly the leader! It's a blast watching him and I'd imagine playing with him becuase of the confidence he gives us all! It's like a freaking rainbow of hope appears when the guy takes the field!

I have to disagree with you. Especially when you add in the quote last week that LSU was one dimensional on offense and everyone knows it. Those 2 quotes together sure sound like Ridley wants Lee over JJ. Hell, everyone wants Lee over JJ except Miles and hard headed JJ supporters.

JJ is actually #18 in those rankings as well.

That's nice. But far more telling from that link is that not only is JJ dead last among the 12 SEC QB's in passer ratings, he is so deep in last it's unfathomable! Even Brantley at #10 and the Vandy QB at #11 are 30 points higher than him. 90.8 through 6 games ???? How is that possible?

This quote from Ridley tells me all I need t know. Here is the SEC leading rusher saying that Lee is our quarterback.

Lee being the leader of the offense has been VERY clear for a few months now to any fan paying attention. His demeanor on the sidelines, how the team responds to him, etc.

I really think that is what has been getting into Jefferson's head. Lee worked his butt off for the last 2 years and passed him in skill and the team's respect.
