Everyone appreciates what you’ve done as coach for the tigers. Winningest living coach in the NCAA, haven’t coached a team to a losing record since ‘92. Tons of conference championships between four programs. One national title. Releasing a marsupial on the field and conjuring purple and gold possum majic.
We appreciate you, but it is time. Put LSU’s best interest ahead of your own. Resign with grace before it gets to the point of putting a stain on your career that won’t wash out. You have done enough to hold your head high in my opinion. We all make mistakes. We all have our faults. Don’t let your faults harm the program you love until you’re forced out.

He more than likely will at the end of the season

Nothing will be different with Dunn or Cain in charge

15 seasons. 1 ring. That ‘17 season bought him another 4 years. If he had won it, maybe 5+. He needs to hang it on up and become a full time grandpa. We cannot waste another freshman core like we have with Crews, Morgan, Thompson.

Leave or get fired. He has run his course. Know when you can’t do it anymore.

High off your arse if you think Woodward is willing to pay Mulkey 2.5 but won’t throw the bank at the best possible option. Dunn or Cain ain’t it, and he knows it. He will clean house. It will upset people. It will be the right move.

I've been with you on this until Paul quit in another game. Maybe we won't see another coach quit with those two.

I don’t see any logic in Mainieri leaving/stepping down/resigning and promoting Dunn or Cain. Hire Erik Bakich or Tim Tadlock. Or make Corbin say no. The success Vandy is having is feasible. I get that they have the scholarship advantage, but we have the brand advantage. Imagine a young, hungry coach at the helm with ace assistants. Box would be PACKED if the on field product warranted it. Bakich is 43. Build a staff around him, Tadlock or Corbin and it’s over with. I don’t think Bianco with the right coaches would be the worst option either.

No no no no ... that's not what I meant.

Strictly speaking about the rest of the season.

Oh! I guess you and everyone misunderstood the thread, I’m meaning he should step down at years end.

Do we still have a brand advantage?
Or has it been squandered?

It can't be just me that notices that we are losing more and more ground every year he's the coach and has been that way for years now. Look at the gap between our program now under paul and where vandy, arkansas, state, florida, hell even south carolina and ole miss and you can add tennessee to that list as well. They have all surpassed us and it's not close and we need to do this now and end it before we start getting lapped. Geaux Tigers.

No, we are still LSU and stans very much behind baseball. Something we have done for decades. We aren't new money

Meant as interims

There is no reason to keep Dunn or Cain

I’m still undecided about Smith

Yes, we do. We are still LS fricking U.
I equate it to the years before Bama hired Saban. Dubose, Franchione and Shula all underperformed. Yet, Bama was still Bama.

These “open letter” types of threads are stupid. Just email him and leave this shite off a discussion board because NOBODY READS them that matter in this, especially Paul abs Scott.

Bakich would be a strong move. He's really done a fine job at Michigan and has SEC experience from his time at Vandy.
