Yeah, they are dreadful on 3rd down on both defense and offense. Hopefully that trend continues. Losing that badly on 3rd downs in a game is just a boat anchor on success.

And on the flip side, LSU has been pretty great.

I'd like to see LSU run the ball 45 plus times this game.

Just imagine our rushing defense without blowing that end around from McNeese

Yeah, I really would like us to lean into the run game in this one as well.

On further review, 45 plus times imo.

I'm not quite sure, but I seem to recall a team last year that struggled badly on third down:

2025 LSU 3rd Down Conversion % - 34.4% (104th nationally)

Kentucky has only 2 routes toward winning this football game:

1. Stifle LSU's running game and create lot of pressure in 3rd and long situations - don't find the 1st part of that to be likely.

2. Have an insane performance from their special teams units.

Kentucky is so so so bad on 3rd down. They will punt 7-8 times in this game. If we field punts cleanly and establish even a modest running game, we'll win by 10+.

Same. South Carolina ran for 230 and 6.3 ypc.

Gotta play with a lead. Just choke them out.

Lane has to be slobbering over those stats. I expect a well prepared team to come out on Sat night.
