And how many top 10 finishes since 2007????? 3???? They doesn't say much for the state of the program the last 10 years. Plus teams play 13 games every year. It's not as hard as it used to be to get 10 wins. AND with the so-called great talent Les has brought in we should be top ten every year.At THIs moment the program is about or below where it was when he took over. Especially since 2011.

NO!
We had two quarterbaacks, one was the number 1 pick in the draft the other made an NFL roster and stayed in the NFL for six or seven years.
Three WR's on the team, two selected in the NFL first round.
Glenn Dorsey received All-America honors twice, and was recognized as the top college defensive player of the 2007 season.
Joseph Addai, He was selected in the first round (30th overall pick) of the 2006 NFL Draft out of Louisiana State University by the Indianapolis Colts and played for the team for six seasons. He won Super Bowl XLI with the Colts.

Who on this team, that returns next season, can compare to those players.

It is if you suck...right? I mean if you're a horrible coach than that would just mean more losses

Ok. That's fine. But everyone says Les has brought in better talent now more than ever. So where's your argument.

did Miles leave the program in better shape than he inherited it?

we shall see if the new coach can win a championship in 2 years, if so, then yeah

Also is LSU a better job now then we he took it over?

depends on who LSU can hire

we can't answer these questions right now

How many 10 win seasons did LSU have from 2000 to 2004 and many since 05? How many Top 10 ranking did LSU have from 2000 to 2004 and how many since? What was the LSU winning % from 2000 to 2004 and what has it been since 05? How many SEC teams won titles from 2000 to 2004 and how many have won titles since 05? From 2000 to 2004 LSU ranked 6th national for wins and 2nd in the SEC for wins. From 2005 LSU has ranked 3rd national for wins and 1st in the SEC.

Last 4 years (plus the 2 SEC West games this year): 15-11 against the SEC West
Last 3 years (plus 2 West games): 10-10

I don't care about 10 win seasons when 3-4 of those wins each year are against Sam Houston State, Furman, UAB, Jax State, etc., and a couple others are weaker SEC teams like Miss St, Vandy, Kentucky, etc.

Our true competition are the big boys in the West.

And we've failed ever since 1/9/12.

Saban brought LSU to heights it hadn't seen in 40 plus years. The program was a disaster when Saban got here. He built a top 5 program from out of the gutter

You're being a little melodramatic. Check out the 2000 roster and tell me the team was in the gutter. Hell...I honestly believe Dinardo could've at the very least won some conference championships had he just gotten rid of Tepper.

What????? LSU is a top 5 job in the country no matter who we hire..... But we aren't a top 5 program right now. The last 5 years have proven this.

You would have no evidence to state this. If top coaches turn LSU down, then no, it isn't a top job.

The 2000 team was pretty good. But Gerry was gone by then and had some great talent the last two years he was here. And what were those records again in 1998 and 1999???

Choctaw - I don't often agree with you, but I do on this point.

Dinardo was actually a good coach and had a very good first 3 years here. But his hiring of, and commitment to, Lou Tepper is what brought him down.

No, you don't. State of the program is different than wins and losses. You know how people refer to you as a high functioning retard? It's because of shite like this. How does a program you describe recruit so well? Holy frick you're dumb.

You realize there are other elite football schools besides LSU. Top coaches usually already have top jobs at top pay.

Highly doubtful that Saban, Meyer, Jimbo, Harbaugh, Shaw, Dantonio, etc. will leave their highly successful program, where they're already paid top dollar, to come here, unless there's something going on behind the scenes at their current school that could make them want to leave.

Like I said. LSU is a top 5 job. But right now it's not s top 5 program. Just look at the last 5 years. If you can't see this then I can't help you.

Right. And my point is that if LSU has to settle for a C list candidate, than perhaps it isn't as highly thought of as we would like to think.

A top 5 job should be able to get any coach they want, sans a very few (Saban, Meyer, Harbough, etc).
