i see it differently. If you have been raised on something for 18 years of your life and then go to another school for whatever reason i dont feel your being cheated.
you can pull for them 2nd and when your team has a bye week go to the ones you attend. IMO you are over estimating the exp of cheering for a school that you go to.
18 years trumps 4 IMO even with those 4 being in the student section plus he can go to all the other sports and pull for state when they don't play LSU.
eta it would be different if you didn't grow up on a team then the other teams stuff would be a bigger part.

i dont think im cheating myself out of anything, its actually quite the opposite.
i feel that if stayed up here for the "games" here and wore maroon and white, i would be cheating myself. by wearing purple and gold and traveling to all the games im doing what i know how to do. im not gonna lie to myself by wearing maroon and white and putting on a front

I have learned something from the rant. Our fans love to attack each other online. Im not going to say im not guilty of jumping on people either but to me there seems to be some kinda rift bt the ones older in age against the ones that are students currently of any school. It seems the older guys love to bash the younger ones for anything even when its not needed or deserved like in your case bc you did nothing wrong by wearing your teams shirt and walking to class.
