So how good are they this year.......
Just looking at the game results, it's hard to say. They scored runs, but against Central Mich, Northwestern, and UTSA.
Maybe they can hit, we'll find out tomorrow night.

How's UL this year?
7-1
SLU was 5-1 before they played the Tigers. Just sayin.

Inexperienced and mostly really young. Pitching staff is mostly inexperienced as well. A lot more athletic than in previous years. 1-9 in the lineup can run. Prone to making mistakes that young teams make but this team is much better than the last couple of years.

That's kind of what I was getting at.

Not sure how UL is doing, as I don't follow any teams from the Big East. But ULLLL,for a team with a coach who has won over 900 games, is its usual up & down team, regardless of their record this yr.

I posted this in another tread.
ULL has an impressive 3.63 team ERA, compared to LSU's 2.43. ULL's batters have stuck out 54 times (6.75 per game). LSU is at 28 (4 per game).
RPI, LSU 26, ULL 29.
NPI, LSU 26, ULL 32.
SOS, LSU 41, ULL 47.
ULL has 1 more win than LSU, ULL has .004 higher batting average, and ULL has struck out more opposing batters. I suppose it might be a close game. We'll see how the midweek starters compare. I'm putting my money on LSU.
Edit: some of that is sarcasm.

Tendonitis for Griffit, he'll pitch soon. Kody Smith will start tomorrow. Transfer from BRCC.

Can't wait to see Glenn tonight!
Posted on 2/26/13 at 11:18 am to beauchristopher
Glenn throws 3 innings, then we go bullpen rest of way to setup Glenn for Sunday start

Posted on 2/26/13 at 11:19 am to thunderbird1100
I don't see this Sunday being a start for Glenn

Dont know why Mainieri would say he's throwing the bullpen against ULL if he doesnt have a plan for Glenn to start over the weekend. Wouldn't he just ride out Glenn as long as he could otherwise?

I wish he would ride him out tonight.

New RF is really good, has power, can run, throws well.
CF is better than last year (Bowman), not as fast but hits 10X better.
LF, 1st, and C have power.
3B (Girouard/lefty) can hit, his platoon does not.
SS freshman, too early to tell, but not very big w/ bat so far.
2B Conrad is solid in field, hits OK usually an opposite field hitter but has started slow this year.

I just don't see him getting 2 starts in one week based no him only having one start. I think PM will want to see him succeed tonight over several innings, so 3 or 4. If he goes that far in the game I don't see any reason to start him this week. Give him a couple innings out of the pen on Sunday and then let him take the bump next Sunday against UW. We will see though.
