How likely is it that Naz doesn't get drafted at all? I haven't looked in a while but the last projections (during the tournament) appeared to think he wasn't going to go higher than the second round. If he doesn't go drafted does he come back or go to Europe?

Zero chance that he goes undrafted. Will be a mid second round pick and possibly early second round because of his potential. Could be a top 10 pick if he returned to school imho

Pretty sure Days was one of our better defenders last year, just stayed in foul trouble.

There is ZERO chance of the following next year:

Days coming off of the bench.

Graves becoming a starter

I wouldnt call him a very good defender, a big part of defending is being able to do it without fouling all the time. He CAN defend, he just ends up fouling and giving up way too often which takes him off the floor.

He averaged 7.4 fouls per 40 minutes which led the team by far

Those numbers were with him playing through a significant injury right? Every report I have seen on him is that he is a sharp shooter from deep.

Williams & Days both start next year at 3 & 4

Will be hard to keep Marlon Taylor off the floor if he progresses his game at all.

But I like that problem.

I just don't know what to say to this ridiculously contradictory statement.

I like Days a lot, but he consistently put himself in dumb situations that led to dumb fouls, which is clearly seen in his much higher foul rate than everyone else. He was easily one of the worst defenders on the team b/c of this, and it was the #1 reason he didn't see more playing time, b/c with his shot, he should have played more, but his defense was that bad.

I was talkign his last 2 years in high school. He was like 34% one year and like 37% the other. He shot a lot of 3's though. Again, I dont know if I'd call him a sharpshooter but he scores a lot from 3.

When I think sharpshooter I'm seeing guys over 40%. Doesnt mean he cant be one, but mid-high 30's is what we have to go on and isnt really that.

Terrible take

Do you remember the changing point in the season this past year?
Taking Emmitt out of the starting lineup and inserting Bigby-Williams, who turned into one of the best rim protectors in college basketball. If Bigby-Williams isn't on this team, i'd bet we don't win the SEC. That's not to say Emmitt isn't good or anything, b/c i love Emmitt Williams and i love what he brings to our team, but he can't be our best post player and we expect to be a good team.
I think they gave up on the full court pressure later in the year, and that was something that Emmitt thrived at, as well as many others on the team. Not saying they needed to press all game, but when they started to have that lull at the 10 minute mark of every half of every game, putting Emmitt out there and pressing energizes the team.

Players can get better year over year though. I agree Emmitt is SUPER limited offensively, but if he make some progression in terms of skillset he could really become a very good player.

Lot of guys make good leaps from freshman to sophomore seasons using recent examples:
Skylar Mays
Brandon Sampson
Antonio Blakeney
Craig Victor
Tim Quarterman
Jarell Martin
Jordan Mickey
Johnny O'Bryant
Anthony Hickey
Storm Warren
Bo Spencer
Tasmin Mitchell

Freshmen get better in year 2. Don’t really care what happened last year.

I am by no means saying i don't like Emmitt, or that i don't want him to play, or that he won't get better.
I would be mad if he wasn't playing at least 20 minutes a game.
But i hope we can find at least one post player to bring in this year that will be better than both he and Days.

I expect Williams, Days, and Marlon Taylor to make huge strides going into next year.

Williams and Taylor were so raw this year and have extremely high ceilings. Days just needs to play a little more in control with his fouling and he should be much improved.
