Now that would really affect the rotation.

you gotta throw ranaudo on friday. there is no tomorrow, he goes friday and can throw on 4 days rest on wednsday.
well there is a tomorrow, and LC would pitch it
I still agree with this, If we lose and win the next,
pitch Ross in game 1

that scenario works i guess
but i dont understand why you wouldnt want your 2 big guns ready for the title
austin ross is not some bum...far from it

no shite
then you have someone like byrd, bradshaw, or cain starting in the title series

Exactly. Makes it a tough call. I see the argument either way, but I still go with Renauldo. Whatever Manieri does, I sure hope it works.

problem is, if you throw ross on friday and lose, then ranaudo has to go on saturday and has no chance of pitching on wednsday.

And the whole point is this, we are as fresh as we can possibly be right now. We are right where we want to be. The only person who can't start on Friday is Coleman. Everyone else is available. How awesome is that?! Now PM is in a position to set his rotation for Mon-Tue-Wed, without risking elimination (talking about Friday's game, obviously). And you can bet he's "looking ahead". He has to. He's planning on winning this whole thing. And setting up your pitchers is part of his job. He will do it right, I trust. Look where he has his pitching staff right now, in great shape. It wouldn't shock me if he started Bradshaw on Friday.

Ross needs to start friday end of story he is a great starter and saving our two best is the best idea

If we throw Ross on Friday and lose, Coleman goes Saturday and Wednesday
you don't give yourself the chance to be eliminated having played 4 games and only throwing your ace once...as would be the case throwing the AR's in the next two if we were to lose Friday

let Ross start Friday and have Bradshaw and/or Cain come in for relief with Ott being there as a closer if needed. Hopefully we jump out to a big early lead and relax by using different pitchers not to tire out our hosses.

Have any of you watched this baseball team all year or how many of you started watching in the last 15 games? WHEN had PM EVER not gone for the win with his best chance? 1 time versus Southern... He will go for the win first then worry about his rotation for the championship series. We are not going to be playing southern friday it will be a team with their back against the wall looking for revenge. You done serve up a lob.

I'm getting pissed reading this. Throwing Ross on Friday is fricking retarded and every1 saying uva will be throwing the 4th pitcher is proving me right. They will throw their saturday night starter who will have 6 days rest.
So you wanna pitch Ross against there ace? GENIUS!! Throw Ranaudo, get the win, limit his pitch count if you can. Pitching Coleman on Friday would be a better option than Ross. And nothing against Ross b/c I want to see him come in once we have a 4 run lead. I think he's been fantastic in the latter part of the season but that said, you have to do everything w/in your powers to win Friday. Some of you are overthinking this. If Ranaudo starts on Friday; he'll be ready to go on Tuesday and if not definitely on Wed. Plus you want to see him regain any lost confidence b/4 the c'ship series. Let's just hope the other side is playing on Saturday. I'd bet the house that they're pitching their Game 1 starter on Friday night just like we'll be doing.

Nearly every manager in this situation starts their ace. Baseball logic.

You are right but I don't think I would get that worked up about it.
