UF is going to stomp ya'll this weekend and crush any notion of elite program that is still lingering in your mind.

They will beat UF

Yeah it wasn't just Finebaum. It was the large majority of the country that thought we were an elite team.

He was saying this TODAY, AFTER you got dominated by LSU. Again, an elite team doesn't get dominated by a team starting two freshmen on the Oline, especially when you supposedly have two of the best DEs in the country. If you're elite, you roll a team like that, regardless of where it's played.

One of the announcers on Saturday called him the "head ball coach" about 8 times.

i just watched OBC post game show. Just after the game just as LM does. He was full of praise for our team, but he'll always throw in his backhanded little jabs in there. Just how he is i suppose. But in saying that he's just trying to pump up his team by putting them down readying them for the Gators. He knows thats the make or break game.

Say what you will about Spurrier but he does give credit when he gets beat.
When he was UF, he laid the wood to us big time and that pisses a lot of fans off, me included.
But I do remember the day after we beat Ohio State, he showed up at a press conference in South Carolina wearing a purple golf shirt and said he had it on in honor of a fellow SEC team winning the NC.
Probably few other coaches would do that.
It's still fun as hell to beat him, though !!!

It depends. Really, he just tells it like it is. When we beat him in '97 they were #1, but were obviously overrated. In his post game press conference he said LSU should be embarrassed that their fans rushed the field after beating such a lousy team.

I'll take it as a complement when you drive the opposing coach into referring to his team as lousy...call it a backhanded complement !
Oh and by the way...I was one of those who rushed the field that night !!!!!

we did dominate that game, seriously dominated. great to see we sustained some drives, disheartening to see the final score. we completely dominated them.

He has mellowed to some degree.
When i was younger and Florida owned LSU i hated Spurrier. Then after his NFL debacle and Flordia dumping on him for head coach position, my feelings changed. I think he is still a pretty damn good coach, and his sideline antics are funny as can be. ie as long as we beat his team that is.

He is right on 2 phases of the game but our Special Teams were not dominating that night at all.

Head Ball Coach is what he has always referred to himself as, never as Old Ball Coach. He even had HBC on his headset.

UF will have to throw the ball to have a chance to beat USC, they're not gonna let a QB run for 177 yds and ONE RB won't get it done, either. I want UF to win out because I feel we whoop em if we get another shot.

Oops, my bad. It's already been decided that Bama is in the SECCG.

It was funny watching him on tv. He would get so mad he'd hop up & down, talking to himself, waving his arms, as if he didn't know what to do with himself. In his younger days, he'd have really thrown a fit. Even Herbie got a kick out of watching his antics on the sidelines. He's mellowed but still has a lot of zingers left in his quiver when the moment is right. I've always heard that as funny/brash as he was in public back in his gator yrs, he was 10 times as funny & biting in private gator booster club meetings.

No there not. I have USCe beating Florida. I think SC has a better team and if we had discovered the young guys on the Oline before we played Florida instead of reshuffling during the game we would have beaten them too. But JW goes down at RT guard, Hurst had a bad game etc. But one week of practice with the young guys on the right side and it was like night and day.
