Dudes...what's wrong with letting Chris Garrett sit behind two upperclassmen and learn the position for a couple years? It sounds like ya'll are just looking for a reason to bitch. You're all too eager to put another RS Freshman out there to the wolves in the SEC. That is pretty much what broke Jarret Lee's confidence. Let Garrett learn and when his time comes he'll be ready.

I would feel a lot more comfortable with Jarret Lee coming in a game in the event that JJ gets hurt than CG coming in. I imagine the coaches feel the same way. Thus, JL gets the reps.

Lee actually looked very good at the scrimmage yesterday.

No I don't think that's it at all. No one wants to see a freshman or RSF come in and try and handle the SEC. I just think Garrett needs reps regardless. you never know when an injury will happen and why risk putting someone in with no experience at all?

And it's not like young guys never touch the field and have success at the QB position. They may not have everything down but they can be effective enough. Point I am trying to make is we took a massive hit at the QB spot with the whole RP deal. Had to rely on a Harvard transfer who got hurt. Had to go with JL who had no snaps and was not prepared. Then had to look to JJ who was in the same boat. Why follow the broken path?

I never said play Garrett over Lee but I do firmly believe if he is better then give him a shot. The main argument here is it will be a lot better to have Garrett somewhat prepared than none at all. Can't see where anyone would argue this.

This Chris Garrett talk is really getting old. The last thing we need is another first year starter.

Chris Garrett will need to wait for his turn just like everyone else at this point.

dude , did you even see the La. Tech game or the 4th quarter of the Bama game? Lee did everything he could to try to lose to Tech. If the Tech DBs didn't have stone hands they would have won the game. I would prefer Lee never take a meaningful snap at LSU again. Garrett cannot be any worse than Lee and if you saw the spring game, Garrett looks much, much better than Lee and needs to start getting game reps THIS season.

Lee threw what, like 5 passes in the Spring Game last year? Oh wait, it's not like most of the Rantards actually care about a legit sample size. Let's just pull the scholly on a Tiger who struggled early in his career or force him to transfer and throw a RSFR into the fire since obviously JJ will never improve.

Sounds like a perfect plan for those undefeated seasons the rant seems to require every year.

I don't mind this but I always expected Murphy to dominate and be one of the top RB in the SEC

This surprises me because Chavis is the best coach and best position coach we have on staff. Did he say anything about the teams execution and the coaches sense of organization?

.. we lost three seniors and are relying on redshift freshman and sophomores to fill the OLB positions.

... Last year, it was my solemn wish that Lee could come back in Jefferson's absence and light it up, just to get everyone off his back. He responded with an abysmal performance against inferior competition. He's lost my vote of confidence, as well as my desire to see him ever step foot on the field again. Lee has the same eligibility as Jefferson. Garrett is being groomed to be a more than capable junior starting QB in a few years.

I don't think we need to throw Lee's name around any longer.

if his knee holds up, he is going to surprise alot of people when he gets more than 4 touches a game.

I really hope he does go out and prove people wrong, but I'm not sure I can see it. He just seems so small to be a featured back....it's almost like he would better off being used a slot receiver.

Just Tommy Hodson, a RS quarterback. Remember? He led us to the SEC West Championship?

It'll be interesting to see how our front 7 develops against the run.
