As I said I would be curious to see Daniels with the ball in live action. I do not think he would look like Harris. Harris could not quite move that well. Might've had straight line speed to some degree but was not elusive or shifty to make people miss and hit his head on the goal post.

Don't know yet how Daniels will fare running against SEC athletes, but he looked awesome running in the spring game, and against West Coast defenses.
I don't believe he is ready to play QB in the SEC.

That's a great point. I guess I should revise that and say Brennan has the most SEC experience. In my opinion that means something, but to others it could mean nothing!
While clearly not as good and deep as the SEC, I'm willing to bet the Pac-12 had/has teams comparable to 2020 Mississippi St, Vanderbilt and Missouri. It's not like Brennan played against the upper echelon of the SEC.
I get people pulling for Brennan. He's a (somewhat) local kid who "waited his turn" in an era where that doesn't happen all that often anymore. But LSU has essentially tried to pass over him multiple times in his career here. In 2017 O's first effort upon getting the permanent HC job is to recruit a long committed Tua even though he already had Brennan committed. In 2018, LSU signs a LESS experienced grad transfer, 4 months prior to the opening game, to come in and start immediately. I think even if Brennan doesn't get hurt last season Ed was probably going to go with Johnson.
If he is ultimately the best QB, great! But throughout his entire career it seems the coaching staffs have always been looking to see if they could find someone better.

Really funny to read the armchair QBs analyze a few series in a brand new (partially installed) offense.

In the movie ‘Dune’ the worm IS the spice and the spice IS the worm. A QB that can complete a 15 yd out to the sideline or Bech in the seam in stride opens up the running game. Once you then get Emery and Goodwin going you don’t need a running QB. I don’t care if Daniel’s if Trindon freaking Holiday out there - can’t beat SEC defenses consistently and win championships with run-only QB. Hell, let Daniels come in like Taysom Hill and run RPO or jet-seeeps for 5-10 plays a game. Modern Shytone Carey. Whichever of Nuss or Myles is most accurate in fall practice is your starter

Especially against a defense that only played man coverage with two different fronts

Nice comments but doubt LSU surprises this season. Be happy with 7-5 winning record and a bowl game.

Jayden Daniels had 1 nice pass. Otherwise he got the ball, held it, then took off (honestly he got touched a couple times behind the line then took off. You could see d-linemen raise their hand after hitting him). Brennan was by far the most efficient. Nuss looked most exciting and honestly looked like a starter. Yea Daniels can run. He ran well in…..checks books….the PAC 12? Yea he’s never faced SEC CB’s or LB’s. You think he did bad last year? Just wait. He’s 185 soaking wet, let him try that holding the ball too long and running against Bama or Arkansas. He will get blown up. He isn’t Cam Newton. He’s not 6’6/250.

Is nobody concerned with Brennan’s inability to extended plays or scramble for first downs? I mean the guy is a statue.
