Welp Skenes aint batting this year then.
He thought he might get some AB just not as many as people are expecting. Him not getting any live AB over the weekend after Jay said he would on Sunday makes me rethink that a little. Might be a Skenes decision to use all his time and resources (Wes) on getting better as a pitcher for his future and give up on hitting.

Hard to believe Money started out as the ace last year
Yeah it's crazy. Just looks like Money has lost it for whatever reason. I guess he's looking at hopefully being a long reliever.

I'm curious if Floyd's walks are because they are working his secondary pitches a ton. May not be calling his scrimmages the same as they would call his games. I know that was the case for the fall, but I didn't make it to any spring scrimmages to say that is for sure what it seems like.

I was surprised at the K’s for Neal too. Probably just him having to adjust to the quality of pitching he is seeing. Definitely need him and Milazzo splitting time for now but there will be some people that lose their minds at that strikeout percentage after they have been calling to bench Milazzo LOL.

Hard to get people to understand how the skill set offensively can be completely different but both be productive.
Calling what Milazzo does as productive is a little disingenuous.
It’s the national league pitcher model. They Have him bunt because he’d otherwise get out. That isn’t production, that is a charity case.

Love seeing Nippolt with only 1 K so far. Scrappy that kid.

Neal had a 4K game over the weekend which is kind of inflating things. He’s been pretty consistent otherwise.

Ah. We’re doing that ignore one game thing. You would freak out if anyone suggested ignoring an 0-4 day by Milazzo so his average is at 0.200. It was just one game and it inflates things…

I mean he K’d a bit in the spring but his walks were near even(12:10). He will K but he sees the ball well enough to get on base and hit for power. His profile is pretty easy to read and a 4K game here & there fits into that.

Don't put too much stock on pitchers this early
They are working on things and building up stamina and that will continue thru non conf play
The goal is to be firing on all cylinders when SEC play opens up

To put things in perspective he’s 5 for 19 with 12 Ks. 7 balls in play, 5 hits. Literally feast or famine. A 4K game doesn’t change that. Don’t you think that BABIP comes down as well?

That is having a role for a team. Nothing wrong with sac bunts to get to the top of the order.

You don’t count sacs against OBP, Bay. So sac bunts and flies get taken out. Milazzos OBP is 0.316.
ETA: Would also mean Neal’s is 0.333

I'll have to go back and look and fix it. I didn't think I had it against avg or obp. Might have my formula wrong though. I'll go back and make sure.

His BABIP over both sessions is a little high but not astronomical. It will correct some for sure
In both sessions combined he has slashed 278/339/533
Over a season he might hit .240-.250,
25-30 k%
12-15 bb%

I have a feeling Money is non existent at some point in the season

If you are in the lineup you have a role. He is a complete zero at the plate. He bunts because he is no threat to do something, otherwise. That is not valuable

If they’re not counted in the PA’s then I’m wrong and you got it right.

Of course not, but that isn’t a role if there are no runners on, or you’re leading off an inning.
And credit to him for working on that, but he has to hit.
