Because he's the guy the wanted. And now they don't want to admit they may be wrong about him.

They keep saying we can't judge off one game, but you can bet your 401k that they'd have been all over the board claiming they were right about O if LSU lost last night.

Nick Saban and maybe Urban Meyer are the only two possible of getting players in Austin to be physical monsters in such a bastion of Liberal and Texas Aristocratic Yuppiedom offspring playground?

Teasip Softness just permeates the place.

It may be funny, but it nonetheless is true. He is utterly unproven at this time and it's not looking good for the future. It kind of looks like Texas may have hired another dud for the second time in a row.

In fairness he inherited a dumpster fire at Texas. A true rebuild.

To be accurate, he didn't inherit anything at Texas, he chose it. His decision says something about his acumen.

I remember when the Notre Dame job came open around 2005 and everyone was certain Urban Meyer was going there from Utah because it was his dream job, and it was his dream job. But the Florida job came open at the same time. Urban made an intellectual choice rather than an emotional one because Florida was a better situation from a relent standpoint and administrative direction standpoint. Urban Meyer is an all time great, because great coaches make decisions with their head. LSU, at this time, is a much better situation than Texas for a young head coach.

Actually my guess is Canada and Aranda have a far more successful head coaching career than Herman.

Texas looked bad and it was not the talent level .

After one game? No, that's completely asinine.

Anyone could be wrong about anything. No way to know either way at this point. Just the same that I could be wrong about O. Who can say that after beating up on BYU?

This is asinine but that is what ESPN has become. Herman inherited a mess but I have no reason to think he won't turn it around. It's going to take more than one season.

Going to Texas was a bad career move.

While the state of Texas has a huge population there are three problems talent wise. First, massive competition. Many in state schools recruiting their bases. A&M, Baylor, Tech, SMU, Houston, etc. plus three big out of state recruiters: Oklahoma, LSU, and Arkansas. Second, Texas high schools produce subpar defensive talent on average. Third, Texas has a weak history recruiting out of state talent.

Texas has a shite ton of money. They expect to be the NY Yankees of college football. They can buy facilities. And they think they can buy coaches. Herman was able to leverage LSU's interest in him to a pay day windfall. But when they tried to buy Saban they hit the wall. Nick the Prick liked their financial resources and their massive cash flash, but he wants to win naties more. Despite the money they still have the talent problems. Because of the money they have unrealistic expectations. Nick may be a penis, but he is not stupid.

Herman should have chosen LSU. Louisiana produces massive football talent. LSU has the in state monopoly on it. The only consistent out of state competition is Saban and his past LSU connections. But we still keep the vast majority and insure high grade competition. Next LSU has a rich history of out of state recruiting. We specialize in East Texas, Mississippi, and the southeastern states of Georgia and Florida. Remember, Nick had his agent pursue LSU while he was coaching Michigan State! Yes he was still a penis here, but he was ours and we loved him.

So now we have only one game in their first years, so uncertainty is high. But, I'm glad Tommy the Tongue Kisser chose Texas, and cleared the way for O! Plus with everyone trying to talk Cajun, O is getting notoriety above his actual accomplishments to date. This aids recruitment!

He inherited a team at UH that he gets credit for taking11-1 his first year, But somehow avoids criticism for going 9-4 and 3rd in AAC west his second.

So going by history, he drops off over time.
