Woman beater is probably a bit strong. No one knows for sure, the truth is probably somewhere in between like anything else. It's an emotional topic and it doesn't surprise me that it makes for an intense conversation.

Its well known amongst his friends that he laid hands on her when he had a serious substance abuse problem. Later he got clean and she lifted the restraining order.

I was at Ole Miss at the same time he coached there and it was a lot more "fresh" at the time and it was just a thing people knew about him and forgave him for.

This thread took an interesting turn...

It’s a Ree thread.

It’s everyone else. Definitely not Ree.

I am saying if this was physical, she would have called the cops, filed a police report, and they would have taken pictures, and he likely would have been arrested.

Would she have? Does every single victim of violence do this? Does every case of abuse leave physical marks and is every single abuser arrested?

Maybe she waited and the marks weren’t visible, maybe she didn’t want him arrested just wanted the order so he wouldn’t bother her any more.

Also, maybe there WERE fricking pictures in 1991 and they were no longer around in 2005 when anyone cared enough to interview Ed Orgeron because he finally got a HC gig.

I have no idea, but I do know there are only TWO FACTS on this this issue:

1. A woman sought and was granted a permanent domestic violence protection order against Ed Orgeron by a Florida judge.

2. Ed Orgeron was fired from the University of Miami based on their review of the facts AT THE TIME.

You seem awfully quick to write this off as “nothing substantial”, but the facts we know indicate that the opposite is true.

And again, it was no secret he liked to drink and party. And ultimately manned up that he wasn't living right and turned his life around.

Again, they don’t issue protective orders against people who simply “drink and party”.

That is something that trashy abusers like to say but has no basis in reality.

As for turning his life around, I have said nothing about Orgeron’s present behavior or relationship, and only jumped into this conversation when idiots like you and Ree tried to twist and whitewash his past indiscretions for some reason.

Admin should really, and I mean really take a hard look at some of the posts in this thread and eliminate a few posters. COMPLETELY uncalled for.

This is who these people are. It’s disgusting that they share any common thoughts with myself and the good normal fans that come here.

And nor is there any evidence that he "beat up" his lady. What's worse, falsely accusing O of something there is no proof of, or REE defending the facts that ARE out there?

You have to be kidding me. Of everything posted, especially Justice, you are condemning REE? Absurd!!!!

You must like beating women.

Maybe if they just eliminated Ree, then all his cult followers would fall back into reality.

Regardless of what anyone thinks of Coach O, he has walked a life of trials and tribulations. He wears quite a few wrinkles of wisdom....some lessons learned some not, but a man he is.

While I have never agreed with Joe Alevas process and selection, I have and do hope all the success in the world to O.

This is exhibit A of why he shouldn't make threads anymore. A couple of comments that he doesn't like and he throws a 5+ page bitch fit centered around whether or not LSU's coach is a woman beater.

This thread would have easily dropped to page 2 or 3 by now. But no, Ree hadn't gotten his attention for the day yet.

ETA: It's finally been anchored. Thank God.

Yeah. Let's not blame the subhuman trash that steered this thread that direction. None of it was necessary. Admins need to ban at least half a dozen of these pieces of shite permanently. There's no excuse for their reprehensible behavior.

blaming the victim of violence to defend a coach is reprehensible.

Well ree, off the top of my head, You started a thread about a "Coach o day", one that had something to do with "o being known as a great recruiter, but now makes single mothers cry", and my personal favorite, the one about "o's gonna be kicking some butt next month", which was actually about Tyrann Mathieu and his kickball tournament.

But let's be honest here, the only reason you start any of these kind of threads is to put ole o on a pedestal and make him larger than life. There's no other reason for it ree.

You know it, I know it, and everyone else knows it.
