I apologize for mine as well. I'm ashamed of some of my past comments and I want to do better too.

If we can’t laugh at ourselves, what’s the point?

I agree 100%. A good sense of humor is a valuable trait to have in my opinion.

God knows that if I didn't have one at this point I'd have to be in an insane asylum.

Sure helps to have one. Not everyone on the rant does though.

We are still nowhere NEAR where we want to be. And FTR, where we want to be is better than the 44-9 clip that Miles won at from 2010-2013. why better? Because THAT record WAS NOT good enough then, remember? All we had to show for that dominating run was one lousy SEC title. At 44-9, Miles was under-performing badly in the eyes of many fans. We haven;t even remotely approached that level yet, and we're told it's the golden age again!

Some people feel an incessant need to tamp down fan enthusiasm especially if it relates to the HC. I think most of us appreciate good news, but know we still have work to do to get the program where we believe it should be. There are bigger recruits we need to take that next step, but we are going to have to beat out Saban for their services. We get them and it really will be a "big deal".

People aren't tamping down expectations and enthusiasm, people are trying to appropriately hold O accountable for the same records and results taht got the last coach fired instead of pumping it up beyond what it should be.

I'm now starting to wonder if the fascination with O is that people believe is potential is unlimited, or that they've convinced themselves that O has "no limits in success." Miles, regardless of all of his faults and all of the craziness, was one of the most consistent coaches in college football. The guy was always going to win OOC. He was always going to recruit in the Top 8. He was going to use a pretty consistent ball control offense. He was never going to lose more than 5 games. And the last few years, this consistency hurt him. It was the Miles season. Lose to Bama, win the OOC games. Drop 1 or 2 games he shouldn't win 1 or 2 games he shouldn't. It was like clockwork.

O isn't predictable, all historical signs point to a very, very low floor, but because he's performing like Miles, without the boring consistency - "He could totally perform better." So people get excited for the "possibility," while others key in on the floor and don't see that big upside or possibility. Those people probably think O is lucky to win, or doesn't have much of an effect on the game.

In short, because O isn't really a known commodity, and has shown a wide range of success, he's harder to predict and easier to get excited for the possibility, so tamping down that possibility is seen as an attack against the hope, even if he trots out the same results next year.

You're basically a hemorrhoid. As much as we all like Joe Burrow, your presence here has been abysmal since his arrival. When you're not attempting to teach us plebes about football, you're busy explaining our own history to us, what with your long and storied connection to our program.

In fact, you're so terrible...you're basically the only poster who can actually piss off people enough to where they're forced to say something semi-critical of Burrow because of your constant fellating of him.

Idiot is being kind.

I'm glad that Burrow chose to come to LSU. But you're spot-on about this guy. I love football and football season, but I've said (on more than one occasion) that I'll be glad when the 2019 season is over and Joe Burrow's LSU career is over.

Just so this numbskull will hit the road. Which he's said he will more than likely do once the season is over.

Right? Despite the less than gaudy numbers for most of last season, Burrow has all the intangibles that would obviously make him an LSU fan favorite. And yet, his biggest cheerleader on LSU's largest sports message board is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO over the top about him that he literally forces fans to have to say semi-critical things about the guy, which no one here wants to do...AT ALL! The idea that we'll all be glad when Burrow's time is over SOLELY because we'll be rid of this a-hole should be enough for this assclown to tap the breaks on his schtick...but so far, no joy.

No, but he had a track record of success. He took a dreadful OSU program and after one year led them to three straight winning seasons and two wins over Top-5 OU.

In the message board industry we call that creating imaginary monsters to slay on the internet. It's a troll tactic and for all of the guy's faults as a poster, he's got that one mastered.
