Oh no. Nick Saban's players do not have as much success in the NFL as LSU players. But I thought he was the best defensive mind out there!

Which makes perfect sense. If you're the "greatest defensive mind ever" you should have players playing beyond their talent. Once they have "subpar" coaching in the NFL they don't continue to have an advantage.

Perhaps because many are not really LSU fans?

You have to assume that at least 5% of the posters on here are just trolling.

Josh Reed and Devry Henderson Started as running backs. Joseph Addai played running back, switched to WR for a year, and then switched back to running back.

Mo Claiborne tried out at both WR and DB in the fall camp before sticking at Corner.

There are many other examples as well.

Yeah i know all that. But were all those planned out in advance? I dont think so. They tried a spot, it didnt work out, so they moved back.

What im talking about is planning on a player playing one position this year with the full intention to move him back to safety next year. It's weird.

Terrance Magee did that sort of - moved to slot receiver before returning to RB. Granted, it was a half hearted move by Cameron and company in order to get him on the field more.

Sounds like Jacoby is a future candidate to wear #18. Selfless and a real team member. Sure he wants to get on the field sooner than later but is willing to put the team first. Solid young man and solid family. Can't wait to see him on the field for sure now!

Saban is POS and will say anything to negatively effect LSU

I hope you are not insinuating that O doesn't negatively recruit?

Supposedly while at OM, he singled handedly pushed Joe McKnight to USC because of his bashing of LSU.

Can't think of a time a team purposely changed a players position mid-career.

You seriously can't? Do you keep up with sports?

The recruiting process must be a hectic one, I assume. I could be wrong but it's my belief that most kids nowadays just want the to win championships and be a part of history. I imagine some kids are easily swayed by recent history and get caught up in "playing for Bama" or "playing for Coach Saban". Maybe they have the want to win now mentality. It's all been done before with the Nebraskas and the Miamis. At the end of the day it's up to the kids to choose their school. As to why all coaches can't put together teams like that, it goes in cycles. Everyone knows Alabama will be ranked in the top 2 in preseason rankings. If there are any early losses, which I see happening, no harm no foul. What kid wouldn't want to be able to say they were NEEDED by the number one team in the nation at the time of their recruiting process?? Geaux Tigers!!

read my update homey. Plenty of players change positions. Not many players change positions this year with the full intent to change back down the road.

Landon Collins has not had sustained success, only one really good year. I have a feeling that this year, teams will try to isolate a receiver on him to take advantage of his poor cover skills. He is excellent with the ball in front of him, but was picked on numerous times in college with passes downfield.

The Giants did a good job of using him to his strengths, which was why he had such a good year.

I think it's odd saban would harp on inconsistentcy in the LSU staff considering most of his assistants can rarely stomach working for the dude more than a couple of years.
