Isn't that technically a recruiting violation?

Saban is POS and will say anything to negatively effect LSU

Saban does give good instructions being a former DB himself
What Saban and Alabama teach to db's does not translate to the NFL for the most part. It works for them in college because the qb's don't have all day to throw the ball and can't dissect the defensive backs like they can in the NFL.

Surprised to hear that Saban thinks he has to resort to negative recruiting.

Hatred for LSU?? Because I recognize that Saban is the best coach in the college game right now? I can't stand the man but I won't deny what he's done is nothing short of remarkable.

He's just a negative guy in general.

I think it could be excellent development for Stevens to learn about the WR position at a big time school. I think its a win-win. He can play Free safety there is little doubt about that, if thats where he ends up. This one season learning about WR's isnt going to derail his career and may help him understand how offenses attack defenses.
As far as Saban comparing the stability of the 2 coaching staffs is what recruiting is about. There wasnt a team anywhere recruiting against LSU for any player that didnt bring this up. That was a known obstacle that the LSU recruiters knew they had to overcome. There's much worse than that done by all sides. Its a dog, eat dog world in the SEC.

I appreciate the team player mentality, but that's a strange plan. Can't think of a time a team purposely changed a players position mid-career.
Josh Reed and Devry Henderson Started as running backs. Joseph Addai played running back, switched to WR for a year, and then switched back to running back.
Mo Claiborne tried out at both WR and DB in the fall camp before sticking at Corner.
There are many other examples as well.

He's definitely on a hot streak but it's kind of difficult to crown a guy as the best coach in college football when he has a team full of 4 and 5 star kids to make up the defensive front 7. I mean to consistently have that kind of talent and not produce wins and championships would make him the worst coach IMO. Not saying he is a slouch but I think most D1 coaches would have similar success with that type of talent on their front seven. It's not like he's out-scheming the competition.

So Saban goes negative in recruiting? Shocker.

Well then why don't most coaches just get that kind of talent in their front 7?
The NFL showed that Saban is an average-slightly above average game day coach. He's a bonafide genius when it comes to recruiting and being ahead of the pack there though. Yes, he wins because he gets more talent. But the fact that he can do it year after year after year is what makes him special.

Super dissappointed this hasn't made it over the the SECr yet.

Nick Saban's players do not have as much success in the NFL as LSU players. But I thought he was the best defensive mind out there!
How the players do after they leave him has zero to do with how good of a defense mind he is or is not. Also it's simply not true that his DBs haven't done well in the pro, not as well lately as LSU but Kareem Jackson started horrifically but has turned into a very good player and 8 year starter also Saban did coach Corey Webster at LSU he started for 2 SB winning teams and intercepted Farve's last pass as a Packer.

5) Jacoby and his father approached the recruitment process knowing that he'll be playing on Sundays, so they compared the NFL success of players from LSU and Alabama. Jamal Adams, Patrick Peterson, Tyrann Mathieu, and other LSU DBs with success in the NFL made a great impression on Jacoby while really no Alabama DBs have had sustained success in the NFL, which was a big deal to them.
I'm surprised more kids don't look as in-depth to this. With as many scouts saying Alabama guys are beat up by the time they get into the league and how many fall in the draft bc of this (Reuben Foster, Jonathan Allen this year). Not to mention the lack of sustained success with interior players at the next level. They've obviously done a great job with skill players but the beating the interior guys take while in school seems to have lasting effect.

2 things - Landon Collins disagrees and Jamal really hasn't had any success yet at the NFL level, just saying. I know he looks like a natural, but facts are facts
Leave it to certain members of tRant to provide a counter-argument to a positive report from a player's dad.

Blood in the water attracts the sharks. We can scoff at it all day long, but I bet every coach in america recruiting against LSU addressed the recent turnover in some fashion.
