I'm confused on how Blue is suddenly labeled the #1 when he has been #3 behind guys who are still there (Ware and Ford). And with the emergence of Hilliard last year and all the hype with Hill, I just don't see him as a #1.

maybe he improved during the offseason. don't forget that Blue started the 2nd game of his career vs. Vandy in 2010, so it's not like the coaches haven't been high on him for a while - or that there's a big difference in #1 and #4 or on depth chart.

Does anybody here not remember the Great Mystery of Les Miles Ever Changing Depth Chart and how it has historically had ZERO relation to those who "see the field with regularity"?

Depth charts mean nothing at LSU.

The Rant (for the most part) likes to crack on Ware's vision, but he is clearly a power guy that is primarily used to run between the tackles. He's not supposed to be "bouncing it outside" all the time. You run to the hole the play is designed to go through. He has excellent strength and balance as evidenced in this video (I don't think Florida players want to see Ware ever again):

Hilliard and Blue are better than ware

While I really like Hilliard, he needs to lose about 10lbs and try to get quicker. He doesn't has break away speed and his long is 25 yards. I think Blue will be great this year.

i agree. I think if Ford can get his shite together with grades, it'll be him, Hilliard, and the dark horse: Hill. As long as Hill doesn't make any fumble type mistakes, I'd look for him to blow the F up.

Look for Blue on screens, quick release outs, sweeps. I don't see him as a punch-it-in kind of guy.

Didn't realize the entire rant thought this way.

Point is, people are talking about the other backs like Ware isn't on the team any longer... Seems like on the rant he isn't even a part of the discussion...

Ware is a good back but he is a bruiser and takes too many of hits. He got worn down last year.

He needs to learn to angle off and run through "half a man" instead of a whole man. HE could break more tackles that way and take glancing blows not straight on hits.

Ford might not even play this year. But people were saying ware was going to be suspended. The guy has had an injury. Ware and hill will maul defenses in the 4th quarter. And yes some rantards were giving up on ware.

Pound for pound, he is the strongest, hardest running back on the team ...mark this post, he will have the most yards at the end of the season

Ford is definitely the strongest pound for pound player on the entire team.. so yeah..

I hope Ware goes back to his form from the Texas A&M game, if not we still got 4 other guys there to what he cant. Either way its going to be a fun season

I can tell you this if Miles thinks he is gonna pound Blue up the middle like Ware, Scott, and Ridley then Blue is gonna go down with injury. Blue won't make half the year if this holds true. Blue's running style isn't built to take that kind of pounding. Miles better run Blue like he does Ford. Hilliard, Hill, and Ware are built for Les Miles offense.

He may be physically strong but I'm not sure he's even the third best back on the squad.

Should've been a linebacker.
