I’d almost bet Yamin goes in for him before game is over

I think we’re running out of players. I would rather see Yamin.

COBOL would be a dead language except for the fact that it is almost inextricably threaded through the entire financial and banking systems.
I don’t really do any programming outside of some powershell scripting and such since I’m an infrastructure guy, but the COBOL thing is real. There are a lot of legacy systems (40+ years old) that only a handful of people know how to program. I’ve seen programmers in their 70s that basically were bought out of retirement because there were no replacements. They could demand their own compensation and work schedule, etc.

Those systems are beginning to be phased out, but they definitely still exist. Speaking of, working in IT/OT, I’ve seen DOS systems still being used in billion dollar O&G DCS environments.

My left shoulder surgery is past its warranty date. It pops a bit. I’ll give it a try.

I don't program PLCs but I have to communicate with them a lot. OPC UA is great. Modbus makes me want to bang my head against the wall sometimes.

In the financial world. I suspect whoever wrote the commercial probably googled what programmers are the hardest to find, without checking to see if any manufacturing components have ever been programmed with it.

What does it say that this topic has as much interaction as any of the baseball stuff
