South Carolina went 11-20 last season. Currently 21-3 this season.

But you can’t turn a program around in 2 seasons they say.

Meanwhile LSU is 12-11 after going 14-19 last season.

Trent Johnson SEC win percentage was more than double McMahon’s so far. Let that sink in for a second.

Will Wade has freaking McNeese state 21-3 in YEAR ONE after they went 11-23 last year.

He also went 18-15 and then 25-5 his first two years at LSU.

McMahon ain’t it.

It took Bruce pearl 4 seasons to turn auburn around because the portal didn’t exist.

I agree that McMahon deserves another season, but it’s not outrageous to be frustrated with the tenure so far. We are losing a lot of experience this season and only have two commits right now. We finished runner up for a lot of other top prospects, but we didn’t land them.

We need way more help than Ward, reed, and Williams to be a tournament team. My only hope is that we pull an ole miss football in the portal. Otherwise we’re maybe an NIT team next season.

I wish we’d make a decision on a new arena or full renovation, something coaches can use for recruiting.

Well Trent Johnson inherited a talented roster. Brady would have won the sec too with those guys and the conference was much weaker at the time.

I’m well documented being angry at the tenure so far but let’s not praise Trent Johnson any

I won't mind if they shut down the men's basketball program. It's a sham anyway.

Trent Johnson inherited Marcus Thornton , Garrett temple , and Tasmin Mitchell . McMahon is most likely not the guy but let’s not take his first year and compare it to CMMs first . That’s three all sec type guys that had tons of experience

Well that’s ridiculous. Now that the ncaa can use their usual witch hunt on us after we win (dale and pear) we should sustain success

I read that Wade only had one returning player from last season.
The rest are transfers and true freshmen.

No offense but their NET is 69. They aren’t making the tournament unless they win their conf tournament.

Were they under an NCAA investigation last year? Asking for a friend.

SC is the flavor of the month. We have no idea if their coach can sustain this but he has done a good job this year - his team was picked to finish last and thought to have little talent by most who cover the beat. Less than even us they said.

Next year may be different. You see it all the time. Time reveals all.

I really thought McMahon was a great hire. However, it’s clear he was not. The ball movement on offense and adjustments made at half time are lacking.

Wade was sacrificed to get LSU off with lighter penalties…especially with the bell cow (football) being part of the investigation.

Brady did have that roster and the SEC wasn’t weaker. That era produced more national titles, more final 4 appearances, more top 5-10 teams and more teams from the SEC who made the final 4. Dunno where you’re getting Johnny Jones, I said Trent Johnson and it wasn’t to praise him it was to show that a guy who was fired and widely considered our worst coach in 60+ years was still a lot better than the current one.

I also never said Johnny jones. I said Trent Johnson

I heard brady mailed it in after the final 4 but he shouldn’t have been fired. He would have won the sec next year like he had in the past.

Brady was fired for failing with that roster. Making up some story about him mailing it in or an even more fabricated one that he’d have won with a roster he’d already failed with doesn’t change that fact

I’m comparing his first year + with Johnson’s entire tenure. Even if you want to conveniently omit his first season the rest of his tenure is still much better than McMahon’s.
