Glad to be back. I was at a wedding last weekend, not in Lexington. We finally won an SEC series without me, so I was wondering if I'd be accepted back

True or false. Could Thompson at least be considered as possibly one of the greatest defensive SS ever for LSU? I mean, he has been nearly flawless this year.

He’s been great as a freshman but he hasn’t even had the best freshman season at shortstop in LSU history. We’ve been blessed to have been loaded at that position pretty consistently the last 30 years

Look at his numbers. We got lucky to get out of that inning. He walks and hits more batters after an 0-2 count than I’ve even seen. He was great as a freshmen , but he ain’t got it anymore.

No love for KRob? He did make all-SEC. Heckuva SS.

Why no Ryan Theriot? He had a longer MLB career in the infield than everyone on this list minus Bregman.

Aaron Hill?

Like I said, we’ve had a lot of good SS. All those but Jason Williams were/are major leaguers, albeit Nola at catcher. And Williams was a 2x all-American

Nola was so solid. Maybe didn’t have the range but he was so smooth.

Because I just named a bunch off the top of my head, not every SS we’ve ever had. The point was we have been so stacked at that position, it’s a tad premature to start talking about Thompson as one of our best ever. We’ve had an AA caliber player there more than we haven’t

I thought Jason played 3rd and Russ Johnson played alongside at SS?

And you left off two of the best (Hill and Theriot).

Russ was gone after ‘94. Williams took over shortstop for two seasons after Russ went to MLB.

Russ Johnson played third in the majors and SS at LSU iirc. His last year was in 1994 and Williams in 1996. Williams definitely played shortstop in 1995-1996. In his LSU HOF induction they called him the “grandfather of SS U”

I believe Johnson started his career at 3rd then moved over to SS when Andy Sheets left, and Williams started at 3rd until Johnson left.

I think I've found the ingredient to success - I'll stay the frick out of here until after the game.

Landon was phenomenal.

Jordan Thompson saved that game.

Morgan and Crews at 1-2 is a problem for any team in the country.

Dugas continues to bow up.

Fontenot had me sweating but he's a bulldog.

Travinski makes me nervous but he's going to get better every game. I'm still right square in the middle on his "offense" and Milazzo's defense. This is going to be a very hard decision for PM.

Beloso looks so much better at the plate. He could've been 3-3.

Quiet night for Arnold and Gio but they start for me every day.

It's gonna be hard to get a game in tomorrow with the forecasted weather but you just never know. Don't think for a second that South Carolina is distraught after that loss. They came here to win a series, not 1 game. They're used to game 2 down by a game. Our bullpen, outside of Fontenot, should be full go. Labas should have success against this lineup if he stays down in the zone - and, that's my concern with our bullpen, leaving balls up and being predictable. I don't know what to think if this goes to a Saturday doubleheader, but we have to stay on the good side of the K/BB ratio.
