Oh trust me, the main core fanbase of Tech LOATHES LSU, and this will be our THIRD game with you since World War II. Our team sucks arse this decade, and it's frustrating as hell, but our ultimate goal, which we WILL achieve, is to be the "other" team in this state to LSU just as Auburn and Alabama are. I don't care if the LSU people arrogantly see us as their little mid-major annoying brother, you can bet that it will erupt into an insane rivalry once we've finally built our program back up to a respectable level. To appease you on this board, I'll put a big "IF" in here, but don't say it can't/won't happen. I'm civil on here because I'm just as passionate about my team as you are about yours, so neither of us is better, but don't dare come to a gameday in Ruston/Shreveport with friggin' LSU merchandise on unless the Tiggers are playing there.

Because you're not LSU. Alabama and Auburn hate each other because they're in state equals. Tech hates LSU because Tech isn't LSU.

35+ years living in california. bama fans could cheer for aub and aub fans could cheer for bama.
no matter their alma mater, they would always pull for their fellow school when not playing them.

So was the person who started this thread joking or is he just that clueless? What a silly notion that LSU fans hate Alabama as much as the Aubs. I guess when you don't have a true rival you just don't get it...

Let me put it in simple terms, not that I speak for every Auburn man, woman and child, but I think for the vast majority. I hope Alabama loses every game and every competition that they are involved in. I don't care if it's football, basketball or tiddly winks. I have never, and will never pull for the bammers in any type of competition, no matter who they are playing. If Bama were to play anything against North Korea or Al Queda, I am pulling for N. Korea and Al Queda. If the balance of the free world and Christendom are contingent on the frickers from Tuscaloosa winning a contest, I will learn the Koran.
